The following details enable distributor service engineer to enter, check and reset BIOS settings on the (AE7040) SBC which has had the backup battery changed.

- if problem is only that BIOS settings have reverted to default OEM options, re-setting to the following should get the touchscreen working again:



Connect a USB keyboard to the Surface, via USB Ports on the rear of the surface.

Hold down the 'delete' key while the system is powered ON; this should prompt the SBC's BIOS pages*



Select the Standard CMOS Features menu

PRESS ENTER

Set DRIVE A to: NONE 

PRESS: ENTER

PRESS: ESC



Next, select the Advanced Chipset Features menu

PRESS ENTER

Set: AGP + P2P Bridge Control 

PRESS ENTER



Select, Display Device [CRT + LCD] Panel Type 

PRESS ENTER

set: 800x600 18 bit



Press: ESC

Press: ESC



Next, select the Supervisor Password menu

PRESS ENTER

Type: Digital

Confirm password: Digital

PRESS: F10

PRESS: ENTER



Re-power the Control Surface to ensure settings remain in place each time the system boots
