Hey Tony
You’re right actually. I had a play with it over this weekend and you cant insert an outboard unit into 1 of the FX racks. I just saw a load of options on the back panel last time and assumed you would be able to. This is definitely an oversight and I will put something on the feature suggestion page when I get a chance.
I used to run a little Studiomaster Digilive. Its a 16 channel digital mixer from the UK. Very bog standard, but it allowed you to insert an effect onto a mix bus (which the SQ can do) but then also send a aux bus to another mix bus or the main LF! This is something that ive had in the back of mind about the SQ for a while. They would need a failsafe so you couldnt send 2 to each other and create a feedback loop which could potentially do damage.
This wouldn’t obviously be an elegant solution for FX, but I would like to be able to do that for other reasons.
Kinda like a group.. except with seperate sends that dont just follow the main LR. Then can be routed to another Bus.Thoughts?
2018/06/15 at 1:39 pm #71862I do this! its not a fancy box like that, just a splitter from the combi jack into a headphone and mic socket. Im taking the line from the headphone out on the mixer to the ipad so the RTA follows the PAFL!
2018/06/14 at 12:57 pm #71844This pic above would look great over the PEQ! in Allen and Heath colours of course!
Getting really fancy, each frequency bar could change colour as it gets higher like the chromatic meter light! 🙂

Putting that onto the PEQ wouldnt be helpful. Plus there is only 28 bands, not very detailed. Attached a screenshot of a good tra ipad app.
2018/06/11 at 5:50 pm #71731I just thought this would also be nice to see on the parametric as well as the graphic for really seeing where a mic is resonating when eq-ing vocals.

Same problem with fx sends on soft rotary
2018/06/08 at 1:13 pm #71622Clear rack 1 so there is no effect in it. Hit back panel view on the empty rack and choose your in and out routing.
… i think from memory. Im only using external gear as inserts.
2018/06/08 at 12:51 pm #71619Totally agree with Jedifyll! We are spoilt really! I love how user focussed Allen and Heath is.
Great Company, Great Team!
Cheers guys2018/06/08 at 12:43 pm #71616+1 absolutely. Switchable between mono/stereo just like the auxs.
But also… can’t there just be more? Aren’t they all software (no buttons) so there could be more than just the 6 mono/3 stereo. Please correct me if I’m wrong!
My plan is:
Stereo delay 1
Stereo delay 2
Mono subs
Mono dsp’d centre sub (cardiod config)
Mono Balcony fill
2-3x Mono seperate room sendsThis could all be done with ouboard and split mixers but would be nice if the mixer could handle all.
2018/06/01 at 1:26 am #71424Also auxes send to other auxes! I need this for group processing mics before monitors. Using groups for this now but as has been said, levels have to follow the main LR sends!
2018/06/01 at 1:14 am #71423Yes! But specifically a bar graph spectrum like in Smaart software with time averaging options. The ipad has RTA overlay on the graphic eq but its hard to see and jumps around way too fast for tuning.
2018/06/01 at 1:05 am #71422It is usefull for less experienced assistants to mix in the absence of the engineer. Restricted access removes risk of them accidently doing anything they dont know how to undo! Im looking forward to this!
2018/05/27 at 7:43 am #71295Waiheke, When you send to mix you can choose pre or post fade, post fade obviously follows the level on the Main LR.
But if you go to routing, and click the settings symbol under an Aux channel name, you can pick where to take the signal from. Post pre amp, takes the signal straight from the gain control, the most basic unprocessed signal, after that you can choose to go after the insert (if you use them), after the PEQ (this is what people are trying to avoid) and after the input delay.
