Agreed. Though, for vocals I usually just run them through a Group, to have the GEQ there.

Exactly 😉 And yes, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to use FX busses…

Mr. X. he is talking about using FX busses, which are a dedicated bus type in the dLive system. They are in no way necessary, hence the low validity of this request.

Well, you are respectfully wrong… You are not eating AUX busses, you are exchanging FX busses for AUX busses. So the cost is exactly 0 busses, and it does exactly what you guys are after, while still having the dedicated FX Return channels available – they are still there, despite having 0 FX busses assigned in the mix rack config.

If this is really a problem for you guys, just handle the FX sends with AUX busses instead, and return FX to input channels like on all other desks. That will give you ALL the flexibility you could possibly need – and the FX returns will even still be there for you, even though you are not using any FX busses in Mixer Config.

Please, it would be great to not ask R&D to allocate resources for stuff like this, that is already practically available on the console.

I think additional control groups is the wrong way to do it. It should work like Midas, where you can decide to flip DCAs to faders or not, to adjust selected AUX or Master layer while in flip mode. Very useful feature.

Anyone who has worked on a Midas Pro, will HATE store scope. It is a terrible PITA, that makes programming more confusing than necessary. And I don’t really see any situations where it will be preferable… you just pick from the recall scope what you want, is that not the same thing…?

Seriously – I dont see the problem, there is nothing holding you guys back from programming this.

Just program 2 scenes, assign to soft keys.

This is a VERY serious shortcoming of the DLive unfortunately, so much so that it will keep potential customers from the system, especially when doing in-ear monitors and setting up comms and Talkback for the PAFL.

Yeah, this and a good 2-bus comp (SSL 4000 and API 2500) are definitely what is needed to complete the package of DEEP emulations.

Would like to see these as well.

Trick for TB Bus into the PAFL, is to loop your Talk AUX into an FX in the FX rack, and then you can use the output of the rack into the Ext Input. I just use a Deesser.

    You’re right.

Just a little tiring to see an endless amount of posts in these fora about people either wanting A) Stuff to do something that is really not it’s purpose, while there are equally priced products tailor made for it B) Wanting features that are so specific to ONLY their situation, and which often comes from a complete misuse or appliance of the dLive system.

I guess this will be the Achilles heel of the dLive, a pro console at a less-than-pro price point will always attract pro-sumers and amateurs, wanting stuff that should be unnecessary on a pro console operated by pro engineers. Waste of R&D some of the stuff people bring up here on a regular basis.
