I insert my Waves MultiRack on my buses like i do my Inputs. On the Process screen under Gate above PEQ is the insert button. Select it and there i select the IO i send and return.

The presets in the library for each Compressor/Gate/EQ are good starting points. I would use up 2 or 3 channels for say the vocal. 1 channel is just straight through with nothing turned on. other channel load the preset of each. In a case for a vocal. There are presets for male/female, lead/backup. Listen to the differences. Turn on each one at a time to see if you can hear the difference and see how it sounds. I know some will say mix with your ears and not your eyes. But I use both. Listen to the changes but also look at the EQ curve when you select the Male preset. Did it make it lower/muddier? Now switch to the female preset. What changed on the EQ and turn those knobs.

Analog gear you had what you had on the mixer. You added gear to get different sounds. Now all the tools are there. New to sound, digital is daunting due to this. Play around and get to know the mixer.

Correct would not be able to cascade the the AR2412 and the QU24 as it is over 40 input limit. I have an Slink IO card to do the split.

    Alex,

What is the Control Network Bridge or how does it work? I see that option on my Waves card in the I/O port page but haven’t messed with it due to not knowing what it does or how it will impact the working of the IO card.

Or be able to set any of the QU’s to be actual stage boxes. Just a dummy box like an AR/DX.

Current Reference guide 1.4.0. Pg. 39-40. I have done this with FX so that delay goes to the a Aux/Mix as I ride the fader on the songs for effects.

I have played back the audio I recorded with the same gain structure as the original input and did not see any loss of sound even though the audio in DAW looked low. You can always boost the audio in the DAW after the fact.

    Keith,

So with the Windows offline editor. Does this mean we can connect now to the SQ through WiFi as an app? So we can have now an iPad and a laptop with the App at the same time?? Knowing the max of 2 connections of the SQ-Mixpad.

Like stated above. You are providing basically the Backline so you know what you have. I don’t know what Qu board you have. I have a QU24, so i would setup myself up the first 10 channels for Drums and the last 6 channels for Vocals. Everything else lands in the middle. 1 bass, 2 Electric Gtrs, 1 Acoustic Gtr, 2 Keys, and 2 Randoms.

I have a yearly Battle of the bands and this last year was 10 bands, 30min each. 1 band had full brass section and 2 vocals, next band had just 2x stereo keyboards, 3 Sample pads and 7 vocals. Just played around with the inputs as needed. I would recommend setting up the board for the 1st band and next week just tweek a bit and rename as you have time.

    Just my $0.02.

I’ve had to send in mine twice… first for the Aux/Mix buttons not working (carbon flake build up) and now after I bought an SQ Link IO card and it didn’t work so had to get it fixed and it’s been about 6 weeks (5 Weeks at “Authorized” repair center and 1 week at A&H since repair center could not fix it) now to… Still don’t have it… Sucks that the manufacturing warranty expired but I bought the pro coverage from GC so that is covering this. Which I can’t see how if I would have never bought an IO card and I’m out of Warranty and extended coverage what I would have had to do and now my IO port doesn’t work? Guess lucky I found it before this happened.

Tried to get my money back and just get a newer SQ but so far I’m still stuck and A&H will “fix” it again and for me to hope it doesn’t have another issue.

Cannot link them like a stagebox. But you could do the old Analog method of the LR of one of the mixers be Inputs 1 and 2 of the other mixer. Would have two different consoles to work with but you get your expanded IO. Best would be 2 iPads one for each and go from there.

Kind of like the dLive update. It is posted here in the forums and on the main Allen and Heath site. Usually word runs quick across all forums, FB pages and sites letting us know the release.
