Thanks a lot for the feedback. I will manually switch the cables out when I need to. It’s a minor inconvenience but nothing more.
2019/03/19 at 11:24 am #82819Aha! Thank you. It is fixed now.
2019/03/18 at 9:07 pm #82800I looked at this menu and saw this but it looks OK. Am I looking in the wrong menu?

I’m sorry for the really late reply. Ableton is coming in thru Channels 1 and 2 on the Qu32. I just panned Channel 1 to the hard left and Channel 2 to the hard right and I can hear my panning in my headphones now. As a result of this process, I now realize that I had never been panning anything out of my regular speakers either until now, Doh!On another note, do you recommend a dedicated Headphone amplifier or is the Qu’s output good enough?
Thanks,
Nakul2018/12/31 at 1:09 pm #81175Ooh, that’s a really tempting idea, Scott. I’ve been returning a lot of stuff on Amazon as of late, I might go ahead and go through with your suggestion!
2018/12/31 at 5:47 am #81168Thank you for the tips! I ended up returning the Pyle and getting this one which had Phantom power: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017HMD258/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It seems to work right when I have momentary latch on AND the Talk button pressed on my device. I don’t know if there’s any consequence to doing it this way so I’ve been leaving the talk button off on the Qu when I don’t have inter-room communication going on.2018/11/30 at 1:11 am #80449Thanks for the responses. I am getting more comfortable using my device as a result of your insights. The Qu-You is fantastic. I think I am making progress, but I wonder if I’ve been going in the right direction.
Because my setup is purely a recording one, I only monitor with headphones. I only have speakers in my tracking room to listen back after the fact.
I’ve got 2 PA’s in my small tracking room that connect to my Qu-32 which is in my control room. The sound going into those PA’s would be the sound coming out of Ableton to listen back after the fact. I am using Matrix outputs 1 and 2 for those.
I’ve got my first four Mix-outs going into my tracking room as a means for the recording artists to hear the click track from Ableton/talkback microphone. For these purposes, the headphones already play sound back without a headphone amplifier. I do wish that my artists could control the levels of individual Ableton tracks. Is this possible?
Many thanks,
Nakul2018/11/28 at 8:36 am #80387Or you could just not turn on your speakers.
That’s what I was doing before. It did work, although turning stuff on and off repeatedly isn’t my favorite solution. I’m eager to try Dick Rees’s solution when I have time to reconfigure my studio again. For now, the AltOuts are working great though.
2018/11/22 at 6:33 pm #80266Ah, thank you for the tips Dick Rees! It is greatly appreciated. I will try this out soon when I replug my XLRs in (I had switched over to the ALT setup). Happy Thanksgiving!
2018/11/22 at 6:25 pm #80265Thanks for the tips! Yes, I’ll be using a passive pick-up guitar for recording. I just bought this Active DI Box. I hope that’ll do the trick. https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-GI100-BEHRINGER-ULTRA-G/dp/B000CCN15M/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1542910951&sr=8-5&keywords=Behringer+active+di
What I plan on doing is connecting the guitar/effects pedals into the DI Box via instrument cable, and then applying phantom power.
Thanks,
Nakul2018/11/21 at 9:45 pm #80240Garyh, it doesn’t work out that way. It mutes everything including the headphones. Using the ALT outputs works as a workaround though (I can adjust the ALT out knob in the headphone portion of the board).
2018/11/21 at 9:23 pm #80238Since I am using an unbalanced line TS cable, I am assuming that I cannot not plug into one of the regular 32 quarter-inch input jacks.
2018/11/21 at 2:53 am #80216Thank you! Switching to TRS cables outputting from the ALT section works like a charm.
2018/11/18 at 6:22 pm #80174Airckess, precisely! The task couldn’t be simpler, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out using the Main L/R outputs.
I’ve tried debzdoodle’s suggestion, which involves using the ALT Outs instead of the main L/R outputs. That seems to work, but I am one TRS cable short so I am waiting on Amazon.
2018/11/18 at 2:33 am #80166I’m sorry, I still don’t understand. How do I mute the mains? Debzdooble, are you suggesting that I disconnect my speakers from the Main LR and connect them to the Alt-Out connections so that I can use the knob? I’d have to buy a few cables to make that configuration work since the connectors are different…
