Will do, but found some interesting anomalies that maybe will help?

When I insert a plugin in Ins. B, I CAN’T hear it in the IEM mixes, but for some reason I CAN through a monitor wedge. Same input, different outputs.

When I insert the same plug in Ins. A it does the same thing, even though the plugin I normally use in A does NOT do that.

    How does that make sense??

Maybe I’m misunderstanding then, but I’m inserting a Waves plugin through Multirack Soundgrid, not anything from the FX rack at all. Not sure how that would show up in the FX section, and just tried it with no luck seeing anything there.

It’s not through the fx units on the desk though, basically it’s a hardware insert. Works in Ins A, but not Ins B.

Yup, solved it a couple weeks ago. On to other problems, like why I can’t hear dc inserted in insert B (started a new thread), and how to write midi cc and notes in hex form. Thanks Steffen

Yeah… I/O does NOT do what I’m asking about, but thanks anyways.

Routing works if you’ve selected the L/R.

The I/O button gives me patching, but I’m trying to find where I would (for instance) route a group somewhere else besides the main L/R buss. Especially if I were to send it out of the console, into hardware for instance, I don’t want it routed to the L/R also. Or if I sent a group to a matrix directly, I don’t want it to the L/R also.

If I can’t send to another group (thanks for the info), that’s fine, I can adapt.

    Thank you!

Absolutely. No wrong way to do it.

All that makes sense, as far as the differentiation. I guess I get that they can provide a bit of a shortcut for accessing the FX rack, but that isn’t a need for me at all, and I’d probably automate changes rather than go to the rack all the time if that were an issue. If the FX channels (sends/returns both) had full processing I’d maybe rethink, but at that point what’s the point, right?

The way I ended up setting my show up is with aux busses to FX, then to inputs, I doubt I’ll use inserts on them, but I do occasionally compress reverb returns and like at least having some options.

    Thanks all!!
