The 64 ports of I/O are for things plugged into the expansion slot like Dante, Waves, etc. That allows you to patch those ports on your GLD system. These ports are not to be confused with “channels” on the console which is what there are 48 of.
2021/07/01 at 10:09 am #102167Have you tried using a different USB stick? Some are not seen by Avantis.
2021/06/27 at 10:07 am #102086>The only problem is the discovery, it is absolutely possible for me to connect to the desk manually by entering the desks ip. That rules out firewall issues.
That is not true. I’m not sure how the discovery process works, but it’s likely using a UDP general broadcast, instead of a point to point TCP or UDP connection. Firewalls generally frown upon these types of “discovery” broadcasts.
I work for a software company that uses this exact same process for the clients to discover the server. With some firewalls you can connect directly to the IP, but the discovery process fails (gets blocked). When the firewall is turned off, it works, so yes it can be a firewall issue regardless of the fact that you can still make a direct connect. The connect mechanism and the discovery mechanism are two different processes, and it’s possible that one is being blocked, while the other is not. It only takes a moment to temporarily disable the firewall and test it. There really isn’t anything else that can prevent the discovery process while allowing the connection process other than a firewall. Any other issue would likely result in you not being able to connect at all.
2021/06/19 at 10:14 am #101966Have you tried temporarily disabling the Windows firewall? If it works with the firewall disabled, then you at least know where to start looking further. That is my first suspect because the Windows updates modify the firewall settings. You can try adding the GLD Editor to the list of exceptions in the firewall too.
2021/06/17 at 10:40 am #101937As @mfk0815 pointed out, you are only looking at the strip assignments. Don’t confuse those with how the desk is internally configured, as they are totally independent from one another. Configure the number of auxes and groups needed along with stereo channels, then configure the strip assignments.
2021/06/11 at 11:16 am #101846Put FX sends on a layer. Select “Mix” on the channel that you want to put FX on, and raise the levels on the FX sends as desired.
You can also press “Mix” on a single FX unit, and send whatever channels that you want to that unit by raising their respective faders.
2021/06/05 at 12:09 pm #101736The console always attempts to power ON with the same user as was current when powered OFF. If your GUEST account has no password, then switch user to GUEST before powering OFF, and you won’t be prompted for a password on the next power ON.
2021/05/26 at 11:46 am #101543Here’s a workaround:
1. Use one mono and one stereo matrix send only the main L/R bus equally to each matrix (set them to 0db).
2. Create two different scenes with filters in place filtering everything except patch.
3. In one scene patch the stereo matrix out to the ports that drive the monitors.
4. In the other scene patch the mono matrix out to the ports that drive the monitors.
5. Assign each of these scenes to their own soft key (one for mono, the other for stereo).2021/05/16 at 10:52 am #101337If it comes up after a longer wait, it’s the DHCP settings.
If it doesn’t it’s likely the CR2032 battery on the main board. See the previous posts here for a solution.
2021/05/12 at 11:33 am #101284For tracking, dSnake should be patched as normal. Dante outputs will be from channel direct outs. After the console and Dante controller are patched, then go into your DAW and assign tracks to input channels from Dante Virtual Sound Card. Save a scene for tracking.
For multi-track playback (so you can mix on the GLD) assign the track outputs in the DAW to Dante channels, then route those back to the GLD using Dante controller. In the GLD’s I/O configure the channel input assignments from the I/O card instead of dSnake. Save another scene for this configuration so that you can quickly get back to it.
For a stereo playback from the DAW (mixing on the DAW) follow the same steps as multi-track but only for 2 channels into one of your stereo inputs.

2021/05/04 at 11:01 am #101098Check the I/O page on the console, and check the patches in Reaper / Studio One. I used with Studio One, and moved over to Trax Live (faster setup) and it works well in both cases.
2021/04/29 at 10:48 am #100997There are several AVB <–> Dante converters out there that could do the trick if you need AVB.
2021/04/16 at 10:33 am #100714I don’t know much about the Behringer, but if it can support Dante, then yes if you have a Dante card in your dLive setup.
2021/04/14 at 11:26 am #100679>I read that possibly some sync issues, but when I check my dante controller, there isn’t any clock or sync issues, all green.
That is on the Dante side, but you could still have issues between the Dante card and the desk, if they aren’t synced to each other properly.
The Dante card should either be set to “sync to external” through Dante controller, OR the SQ should be set to sync to the I/O port. ONLY ONE of these should be set, not both at the same time.
