    Hi Volum

Well spotted on the show issue.

    quote:

I tried your tip about routing the USB playback directly to the mains, and it works fine, thanks! Though it could be a little loud when the Master is set to 0db, even with the “trim” all the way down. And the trim will also affect other sources, or am I mistaking?

The trim will only effect the external input not the other sources being sent to the main Mix. If it is still to loud even at -24dB then i suggest you either route the USB to a stereo input channel or Stereo group.

this was an issue in old firmware.

are you running the latest firmware v1.02?

    Hi Volum

1: Is there a way to make the PAFL-meters (L/R M) on the console to show PFL gain before compressor? I have tried every tweak (I think) in the setup, but they are always post the compressors makeup-gain. (I know I can see the PFL in the “Meters section on the display, but I would like it to be present also at the LED’s next to the compressor buttons on the console).

If you Press and hold the SEL button on each processing stage you can monitor from that specific point in the signal chain, post processing. example if you want to hear the signal Post PEQ Pre, Compressor hold down the PEQ SEL to monitor that part of the signal chain.

    quote:

2: I find it confusing to not have a “solo clear”-button, or “home”-button that clears all the selected MIX, PAFL and Select’s that I have chosen for different channels. I tried to set it up in the “Soft key assign”, but it does not work as intended if you have checked for the “Additive mode” in Setup.
Confusion comes quickly when navigating away from a layer/bank with one or more buttons selected, and then you have to search trough every layer and bank to find the ones that are lit… Or is it a workaround for this?

I’m afraid there is not currently a specific option for clearing all MIX/PAFL/SEL’s.

    quote:

3: In the effects departement I found that if you add another reverb (ie nr. 5) this will be set up with the ability to send the loop back to its own input, because the default setting for the reverb return channel ON/OFF switch is set to “ON”. Maybe this should be reprogrammed in the next firmware update, or am I missing something here (also)?

This has been resolved in v1.02 are you running the latest firmware?

    quote:

4: When I check my logfile I see that every time i turn the console on it says that the AR2412 “lost audio sync clock” one or two seconds after startup-time. Is this normal, or en error on my console?

This is a known issue and will be fixed for future firmware.

    quote:

5: What is the difference between the two USB-ports?

There no differences between the 2 USB ports on the surface.

    quote:

6: Can i choose to send my recording to the lower USB-port, while playback from the upper?

No, I am afraid this is not possible.

    quote:

7: Is there a way to route USB playback directly to the main mix without using faders for two of the physical inputs on the desk?

Yes this is possible, SEL the mains, go to the processing view on the touchscreen and select Ext Input. Then select your source to be USB.

8: And last but not least: Can you please hurry with the iPad app? Coming from the Presonus SL 24 I have spoiled the bandmembers by letting them use their own iPads and iPhones to adjust their own monitor-mix, and they just love it.

    Hi Carl

I am afraid this feature is not currently available on the GLD.

I have now added this to the feature request list.

    Hi ahlund

The PLA-net socket on iLive MixRacks outputs 20v DC, only connect PLA-net devices to this port, though there should be no problem if you connect PL-Anet to an Ethernet port by accident.

    Hi freemoid924

Yes this is possible with Dante fitted to Port B of the Slave MixRack, you will be able to access all 64 Dante channels. The simplest way is to use input channels 65 to 128, input source: Slave rack Port B.

    Hi Jesse

Like albin mentioned you can assign the input channels to a mono/stereo group/Aux then send the group/Aux to an aviom output channel.

    Hi Carl

Currently the Mono/Stereo state of input channels is fixed on GLD.

We advise users to use ganging if you wish to link channels together. You can then choose which attributes of the channels you wish to link together.

    Hi Jim

A QOS (Quality Of Service) error in the event log means that A packet has been lost on the ACE connection. 1 or 2 of these errors occasionally is nothing to really worry about you will probably not notice anything different with the system. If you have lots of these errors regularly you should probably get this resolved and you will be noticing glitches in the audio and possible the control of the system.

The most common causes of this problem are:
    Badly crimped RJ45 connectors
    Damaged Ethernet cable
using a cable that has not been unwound from the reel
interference from other power sources near your ACE cable

Try using a shorter different cable to see if this resolves the issue.

    Hi Bryan

    quote:

But what aout the fact that taking strip off the surface doesn’t un-patch it from the assigned input and can in fact still leave it in the mix. Is that expected as well?

yes that is expected, just because you remove a strip from your surface layout does not necessarily mean you would want to un-patch the input. some users like to setup for example a record feed, once they have the correct level set then they can remove this channel from the strip layout and know it will not be accidentally adjusted and can be replaced by another strip that they may need during the gig.

    Hi ddff_lv

    In the Outputs page:

MixRack Inputs – refer to physical socket id’s (e.g. A1-A8, B1-B8) Post preamp, Pad, Phantom power – direct to the output

Input Direct Outs – are taken from the 1-64 (65-128 Dualrack)DSP channels and you have the option of choosing the output stage, Post: Preamp, HPF, Gate, Insert return, PEQ, Compressor, Limiter, Mute & fader.

    Hope that helps

    Hi vanmixman

SEL the Aux (monitor) channel you wish to change the send point from, then go to the ‘routing’ page tab at the top right of the screen. From the routing page of the Aux channel you can select the Send point.

    Hope that helps

    Hi Kakelfog

If you remove the Dante module does the system boot faster again?

Have you changed any of the network settings on the GLD?

    Hi

Yes the AES Card for the Fixed format MixRacks will be able to be retro fitted. Though you will need to be running v1.9 firmware.
