Basically we would connect the management port from the MixRack to our control network. On a separate room (Floor 10) we would like to access Director directly to Mixrack to control from that room. We split our input to have different processing with FoH and Floor 10 room which we plan to connect thru Dante network (channel 1-64 to Main and channel 65-128 to Mix6).
On Director we can pull setting either from MixRack or from Surface. We would prefer not to disturb the strip assignment of the Surface, so we would like to have a custom strip assignment for our Director. How could we have this Custom Strip Assingment stored in MixRack so everytime someone pull data from MixRack it contain different Strip Assignment from the Surfaces? Thank you very much.

PS: Additionally, we would also connect SQ thru Dante network, is it possible to have Gain Tracking between DLive and SQ thru Dante? Or both require GigaAce/SLink connected? Thanks

Hi, is it possible that the custom strip assignment is to be stored in MixRack? What we found is that when we pull from MixRack the strip assignment is loss.

As an alternative it is also a good idea if SQ could support IP8

SQ mobile apps is worse than Qu tho better than GLD series. The setting on SQ mobile apps is quite limited (and I think that’s the reason they haven’t released a rack/pac version) tho a bit more flexible than GLD. Soundwise I think the onboard pre-amp is quite similar with GLD while there is a perceived difference when you use the DX stagebox as the input/output. Interface wise is more akin to QU than GLD/Dlive and it doesn’t have “follow” interface as Branimir stated (or maybe I might be missing it on the settings).

Coming from GLD80 to SQ6, UI wise in my opinion Dlive is more similar to GLD than SQ. Sound wise I am not sure as I use Dlive Stagebox on the SQ but with SQ you can use your GLD stagebox with it thus you have that flex/redudancy in the future with your old equipment. You can’t use both DLive and GLD stagebox together tho (atleast without additional SLink card afaik).
A bit of caution, it seems that DLive has a bit of lag post starting up, but mostly ok afterwards.

Feature wise SQ has quite a number of missing feature compared to GLD such as multiband compressor. It may be possible to be added by AH in the future, but the way they go with SQ it seems that you need to purchase it as plugin and as of now there is no possibility to move the serial into other SQ so it stuck with the board. DLive seems to have all that features added for free in every firmware upgrade.

You don’t assign the Input to multitrack, except for doing insertion. What you do is to tap on the output section on each IP (Input processing) and thus you split it post fader. I am not sure whether it has Input Direct Out (PreFader).

edit: There is Direct out, it is called Tie Lines.

How do you set up your gain structure? Btw behringer X series use Midas style preamp which afaik has unique properties when pushed even beyond clipping that it doesn’t break as easily. I’m not sure about the build in preamps on SQ tho as we used DX rack which have dLive preamps.

In the future it is possible using Slink expansion card, but for now it is not possible I think. They also won’t have gain tracking but at least you can compensate using Trim.

If looking at DLive design, probably they might have 2 cards, one for 48 and one for 96, I think as of now Dante system that support SRC is only Yamaha because it is integrated quite deep on their mixing system.

Kinda doubt it, the PEQ on SQ follow the PEQ on QU series. Even the dLive only has 4 band PEQ with LPF+HPF.
