Can we have a console lock screen that leaves one fader operational? So that anybody can control walk in music level for instance.

then i can EQ the group where the instrument is on and this will not affect the FOH EQ or the EQ set on the Aux bus….. If this is the case then i hope i will get more mono groups in the future. Now its only 4 mono and 2 stereo. iLive Editor v1.9thanx all i think i can move on with this.
Hi all,
Just figuring out howto do some EQ over monitors. It seems that i only can EQ things on the Aux bus, but not on channels. Lets say i have a stereo in ear mix, and the singer wants the guitar to be EQ’d how can i do that? FOH EQ is no problem but EQuing instruments over Aux channels. kind regards,
Maarten Louer
You can raise the number of groups (you might have to lower the number of other Busses) in the mixrack setup / mixer config page.
The group to monitor aux method can be very useful sometimes for compression, eq or just grouping.Christian Tepfer
Hamburg, Germany2012/12/06 at 11:07 pm #32353I don’t use it very often as I prefer time aligned systems and subs on aux are not helping this, however:
The sub send is relative (post fader), so the channel signal goes to L/R and nothing to the subs when the sub level is all the way down, turn it up to send to the subs, the channel still sends to L/R.
In order to have more flexibility, use stereo L/R and an aux, that can be pre fader.

Java has been sub par on MacOS for some time and may be sub par for some time.
But your performance is a bit too bad.quote:

I have tried both 10.6 10.7 10.8 on three computers, but no improvement. The SuperStrip can take up to two and half seconds to update.
And if i am too (quick?) on the select button the “systems busy” pops up.Should it be like this? or have I missed any configuration in mac os x.
Any help would be nice – thanks.

Hamburg, Germany2012/11/30 at 2:05 pm #32276I have an idea for the hammond:
Have 2 channels ganged, except routing and pan.
Pan the channels left/right for recording, send to recording, do not route the channels to the mains.
Route one channel to a mono group, route the mono group to the mains.

Very unlikely as there’s a loss of audio and a lot of buss settings until you recall a scene. So it’s only a setup function.

Hamburg, Germany2012/11/20 at 10:56 pm #32188You can mix the group into an aux and use that aux to feed the effect. Nothing new to 1.9 but quite handy sometimes.

Hamburg, Germany2012/11/16 at 11:03 am #32115Interesting topic, my 2 cents:
1. Time differences between mains and the sub aux don’t matter as long as they stay the same. Time align subs and mains and you’re done.
2. Changing fader levels are changing the acoustical crossover point, as are send levels. Time alignment should be done in a way that works over a wide frequency range to account for the crossover point shift.
3. Different EQ changes acoustical crossover point and phase.
Conclusion: Be very sure shat you do when doing subs on aux. When I’m doing system I do it for BEs that like to have the system this way, when I’m mixing I tend to just go for a complete system.

At the moment I use the ATH M-50 and UE SuperFi

Do we need another surface or would the PL remotes work for us?I had very good results with (4) PL-10 remotes for a band on a tour I was mixing. You can control 8 channels (or groups) to a mix, that can be configured freely. In my case it was a different setup for every band member, tailored to their control preference.
Regarding the groups: it is possible to route channels to a group and send that group to auxes. This is handy for grouping channels together that don’t need to be controlled seperately for a mix.
I had every channel split, using 30 input channels, 30 monitor split channels and 2 ambience channels.
So for monitor you can use PL-10 remotes or the new mixpad app, when you already have iPads.

Originally posted by kjell@jll.noFor sure, routing VU meter on DCA is not possible in the “real” world. But as this is just “software” it would be great if it’s possible. At least when you have all faders for the DCA on page 3 it would be good to see what’s happening on that page.
Why not? I have worked on analogue desks where I was able to cue the VCA groups, technically cueing all member channels of that group and of course there was a level indication of all channels combined. That would equate a vca/dca group’s level meter.

Yep. True. They simply use a computer’s ethernet port.
There might be a free virtual soundcard license per hardware card, otherwise (time unlimited) licenses cost around 150$.Christian Tepfer
Hamburg, Germany2010/09/11 at 11:23 pm #26358Steve, what are the distances?
Is there existing wire / fiber from one point to another?
From what I understand you want to link 2 mixracks, that can basically be done with every bi-directional digital I/O card. You have to meet cabling standards though.
When you want to build a network things (to maybe link up a recording computer or other audio devices) get a little more complicated.
