I had it on an 01V96 in the studio and got used to it.

I see potential problems adjusting eq on a guitar or drum while riding the lead vocal fader.

The more I use the QU the less I want this option. LOL!

Yes this would be nice. along with db markings on the compressor to show how much gain reduction I’m getting.

I’ve noticed this too. Especially when you have a 300ms delay on a compressed vocal and he gets really loud and the delay gets way out there and the dry vocal stays where it should be because of compression.

Seems I couldn’t find the right pre/post setting to change it.

It’s gotten better, or I’ve gotten used to it. Sometimes I’m still trying to 0 out an eq and will be -.2 and barely touch the encoder and it is +.1. I really like the board alot. Also I have an AR2412 instead of the copper snake. I really like carrying a 150′ cat6 wire vs. carrying the 32 pair snake it replaces.

The way some case companies are handling this is install 2 strips of 1/4″ of wood on top of foam and build the top big enough to accommodate the extra height. That way the console does not sink down into foam and block any vents. It actually rests on the consoles feet and give about 1/4″ clearance under the console for airflow.

However like dpdan says if your case is just foam on the bottom, you need to get the back out of it a bit.

I’m looking at a Cyberpower PFC Sinewave line interactive 1kVA. Should run the board and a small rack for probably 10 min. This is a desktop style.

I’m not using an AR2412 yet and didn’t think about that needing back up too, makes sense though.

I called Road Cases USA and gave them dimensions and the QU 24 is almost the same size as the X32 compact. The case is 1″ too tall and I’m getting another layer of foam to put in the lid. Other than that it is a perfect fit. They still need to include something to keep the front of the mixer from moving when in transit. I needed a case fast and didn’t have time for a custom made case.

I see they changed their webpage after my discussion with them on the case. Pretty nice, low budget and made in the USA.

    That would be nice.

I would like fader channel select. Sometimes I want to eq a bunch of vocal mics and ride the fader while I’m making changes. Once done move to next channel, touch fader and the processing is selected for that channel.

    Yamaha 01v96 works this way.

I have confirmed this on my QU24 too!

Should be another fix on the next update.

Until then I won’t trim down the solo buss.

I went ahead and tried the Seagate Backup Plus Compact and it works good.

It seems like everybody with 1TB drives are seeing long seek or load times. I’m experiencing this too. However the recording is great.

Anybody use the Seagate back up plus slim version?

I’m curious if it sits deep into foam like most cases are built. This board has vents on the bottom of the back panel. Weird place for vents.

Could take it out of case during use.

Fixed with a hard reset. Funny thing is there’s no (documented) way to route the channel pre compressor to the subgroups.

Going to use it for the first time Saturday at a place where I tie into house system and supplement eg, compression, gating and effects. Just going to use this, plug their snake into it and go!

That would be nice! Every time I adjust the eq I look at that screen and then have to stop what I’m doing and tap the eq section.

It’s great even without the mic. In live audio you just need a quick reference for taming resonance & feedback. It’s actually calibrated for the internal mics in both iphones and ipads!

I do want to the their measurement mic to help tuning systems during installs.

I would like to try the full version of SMAART on a computer and take the class on how to use it!
