@biggsounds I’m setting the preamp gain to “enough” then using the trim controls on both boards. I don’t think I need the gain tracking, is that still a good idea?
@nicola Thanks for that. I didn’t even think of the clock settings.
New booth in the pro audio section was great. I attended a couple classes with Michael Bangs and thoroughly enjoyed them, meeting other dLive users, and learning a bit along the way.
As I figured the Airport Express was the issue. I got a new wireless router, did a little configuration on the LAN and DHCP settings, plugged it all in, and presto! I can now walk around and control my MixRack.
So still no luck with the Airport Express. I can connect by plugging in directly with my laptop running Director. Thinking it’s time to look into a different router.
Thanks for the tips, guys. I’ll give them a shot and report back.
We had a DM2000 and a couple PM5Ds with that feature. I ended up turning it off but a couple engineers I work with loved it.
Thanks, guys.
Yep. Shielded SuperCat cable from RatSound with shielded Neutrik connectors and Neutirk barrel connectors. =)
I take it the shielded cables and connectors are the way to go, right?
Surface Book 2 here. Love it, runs Director really well (the pen is nice), battery life is pretty good. No complaints.
I’m about to go fire up my surface so I’ll have a look too. Currently running 1.71 here.
Ahh good idea. I haven’t been storing any libraries but that’s good to know.
We have long cable runs through our building so we had to go with fiber. Once it’s all pulled we’ll have a GigaAce on CAT5 from a DM64 to a Whirlwind media converter that flips the CAT5 to fiber, then fiber through the building, then finally at FoH another Whirlwind which converts the fiber back to CAT5 to an s70000. I can’t remember where but I read the CAT5 extenders can be sketchy.
I just use shows instead of scenes. They seem to “zero out” the whole surface to give us a fresh starting point. Maybe make a “start here” show and recall that every time. Each operator can have their own show customized to their liking. Seems to be working well for us.
I have not seen this but mine did freeze recalling a show once. I unplugged a Dante cable then recalled a show. The surface froze with a non responsive ‘recalling show’ screen.
I’ve noticed this on my surfaces when selecting the ‘Meters’ page. It was long a long enough delay to make me think something was wrong but it eventually popped up.
Ha. I noticed halfway through a comedy show last night. I’ll take a look at the setting you mentioned. Thanks for the reply. =)
