This is a cool setup. We had to run fiber in our venue because of distance issues – it’s not a straight shot from stage to FoH. Mixrack/surface are connected via Whirlwind MC1000 media converters. Not as involved as running through a switch but it works flawlessly.
2019/04/19 at 2:53 am #83425I finally got around to updating one of our surface/mixrack combos to v1.8. Seems pretty solid so far. The only oddity I’ve noticed is a couple screens lag a little. The meters one always did but now the utility/shows one has the same lag. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying.
2019/04/19 at 2:49 am #83424There’s a latency cost for using groups?
2019/04/16 at 1:09 am #83361So it’s seeming like this was caused by a network issue. A&H support has been great in assisting with the issue. I’ve removed my WiFi router from the system and everything has been solid since.
2019/04/03 at 2:56 am #83120Yep, you’ve got it. One surface becomes the primary and one the secondary. Probably be best to have the s7000 at FOH as the primary (plugged into the MixRack directly) and put the C3500 on the GigaAce card as the secondary surface.
2019/04/02 at 11:18 pm #83113How’s everyone getting along with v1.8. I haven’t seen any posts about glitches. So far so good?
2019/03/15 at 3:19 am #82697Hmm. I don’t think gain tracking works across the GigaAce card – that would be incredibly cool though. I think that’s a multiple surface with one mixrack only option. I could be wrong though.
2019/03/14 at 2:11 am #82650Alternately you could do Ip Direct outs almost the same way just on the Outputs page.Wait, not sure on that one. Tie Lines are the way to go.
2019/03/14 at 2:00 am #82647Go to the I/O page and tap the Tie Lines tab. Choose MixRack Output Sockets and your I/O port on the top row (the port your GigaAce card is in). Then MixRack Input Sockets and Local in the column on the left. Patch the desired channels to the desired outs and your’re good to go. I use this setup for a FOH/MON digital split and it works great, just took me a little while to wrap my head around it.

2019/03/06 at 5:15 pm #82433@biggsounds will the gain tracking work on any surface/mixrack in the system? I’ve seen it setup for using 2 surfaces with one mixrack. Wondering if it’ll work in a multi-surface/mixrack setup if roles are set accordingly.
@jdubya we run a DM64/s7000 for FoH and a DM0/s5000 for monitors with an option to split all channels out via Dante to DM32/c3500 for recording or steaming. Patching everything is pretty straight forward on the I/O pages. So far so good.
2019/03/06 at 5:04 pm #82432No freezes here but my s5000 restarted it’s self when I connected to the mixrack using Director. I had an s7000, DM64, and DM0 all connected together at the time. Once it restarted everything was solid.
2019/02/27 at 2:08 am #82274So far so good with the splitting. Got everything set up today and after a couple patching errors, and one high impedance air-gap in my first two mixes it’s all up and going. The DX 168s are great stageboxes as long as you patch them to tielines correctly, that was a fun ten minutes of “what the heck is going on??”
2019/02/26 at 3:51 pm #82263A piece of thick plywood should do the trick.
2019/02/13 at 2:15 am #81944This is super helpful, thanks everyone. I’m setting this all up so, I’ll report back with how it goes.
