I didn’t export at all, I simply copied the files to the playback directory. The timer displays the file is being played but there is no strength on the meters and no sound in the mains.

Thanks George, that is about what I was thinking for a starting point.

My wife just tried reading a thumb drive that was formatted and used on our Qu 32 and it worked just fine.

Thanks, it once belonged to John Hartford! A very lucky find on my part.

I have no trouble reading a drive formatted on my Qu 32 on my Mac mini. I will have my wife check it on her MacBook and let you know how that works out.

I finally found a way to use pre-fade to the USB drive for recording. I will try this the next time I am at the mixer. Ever since we installed the Qu 32 I have been having withdrawal pains here at home. I am looking to add a Qu SB for my small band (Flute, Guitar/Bass and Drums) use.

Thanks for all of the help. It an be a sometimes painful transition for the analog to the digital mixer world.

Odd indeed, especially considering that it is a known good thumb drive.

My next thing to try and figure out is why the recorded level is so low.

    Thanks for the response.

The way our power sequencer works would not be very conducive to that option. We are trying to ensure that people who simply need to get to 115 use an extension chord to a wall outlet rather than accessing the outlets in the floor wells. Not an insurmountable problem for sure.

    Thanks for the options, Phil

I just verified that you do need to sign on, otherwise you can’t get to the home screen to shutdown. We will simply need to train these folks to a little higher level than we wanted to.

    Thanks, Phil

Thanks Chris. After chatting with our local A&H rep. He told me about the same thing. Soft keys are stored in the scene. His suggestion was to program that same soft key along with each of the Scenes that we use. So far not too many scenes that this will effect so not a problem. He did hint that this may be fixed in a future upgrade. Now if they would only come up with a way to save a Custom layer I would be doing the happy dance.

    Thanks, Phil

Yes, the standard users will be members of the A/V team and will be able to do just about everything. I am thinking after today’s hands on session that they may need Advanced access.

True, but we will have some people using the board with minimal qualifications. I guess building a custom layer is the safest way to keep the finger poking to a minimum.

    Thanks for your reply, Phil

I understand that it is off by default, I was looking for a possible way to disable it completely.

    Thanks for the reply, Phil

Never mind, after more searching I finally found what I was looking for already asked and answered in the forum. This place is a great repository of information. We are anxiously waiting to do our removal of the GL2400-32 and put the Qu 32 in and get to work. The learning curve can be a bit much for an old analog guy but what fun.

How about adding the Shure KSM8?

    Thanks, Phil
