You will have to manually copy the show to the second desk and physically change connections in a case of failure of the main console. Prepare to turn down your amps cause the 2412 will re-power the condenser mics and might give a loud noise.
No redundancy or double connection possible, as far as I know… 🙁

    Hey JD,
    a Happy New Year back!

At first It seemed that possibly you might have created an internal feedback loop.
After thoroughly re-reading your post, I´m not sure. Your inputs are muted, you say, but do you have your Aux- Grp- Mtx- Masters muted as well? Sounds like a digital feedback…
Is it only on your L/R output or also in the Mon or other Out feeds?

If you could post your desk file as an attatchement, that would be helpful at taking a look under the hood.
good luck and keep us informed…

So what would be the remote software of your choice?

    Thanks ,Art!
No Windows tablet here, but your tip leads me to another idea:
Run GLD editor on my mac and remote that with Splashtop on my iPad….

    Hello swarm intelligence,
Do you have any experience with the new firmware so far?
    Improvements? Glitches?
I have a large show coming up and am reluctant to upgrade before that. The GLD upgrade is reversible, but once I upgraded the iPad software, there‘s no way back.

As we‘re at it: is there a way to copy and paste EQ settings via remote software? When I dialed in a monitor EQ via iPad on stage, I have to walk up to the console to copy it to my other mon mixes. Am I missing something there?
Thanks a lot for your inputs…

After almost two years of use the Edimax 1008 still works flawlessly for me.No clicks, no bugs.
    And it`s fanless…

Ah, I missed the part with different shows, I thought, it was like one night with four bands.
beartech’s advice to put setups in the library makes sense. But keep in mind that the same instrument in a different room might need different settings and a preset may only serve as a starting point.

in your situation I would recommend working with scenes.
You can do the complete soundcheck for the first of the three bands with the same musicians and save that scene, then save it as a new scene for the second band and continue their soundcheck, and so on.
Another thing to do is put the drums and brass channels for those three band scenes in recall safe mode, so you can use adjustments that you make (further on along the show) for the other two band settings as well.
In this case you might want to save the fourth band (with complete different settings) as another show.
So you will have one show (with three scenes) for the three same-drums-and-brass bands and a second show for the other band.

This is not possible in the I/O window.
But you can do it in the channel`s preamp tab. Here you can also select the input source for that channel.
    Here`s an example:
Go to channel one, hit the input tab and choose Socket-1 as an it`s input source.
Then go to channel two and you can select the same XLR socket again. (Basically you can select the XLR socket-1 for all existing mixer channels, if you wish.)

    Back to the I/O window:
Now you see three points behind XLR 1`s input connection. This means that there are more than the named mix channel connected to this XLR. In the middle at the bottom is a pull-up menu called “INFO”. Pull it up (or simply click it) and it will show you a list of ALL the patched destinations of (mix channels connected to) the highlighted XLR socket.

    Hope that helped…

    …oh yes, Question2:
YES, the same procedure as with monitor mixes.
And check if the Aux master fader for that Sub channel is up and open…

Very helpful hints and a generous offer from George!

…Go back to the LR mix for the house.

This is THE MOST IMPORTANT tip!
Don’t forget to get back there, otherwise you’ll mess up musician’ mixes without noticing when you proceed doing house sound.
In the lower left side of the screen you will always find an icon with the name and color of the mix you’re currently working on. Don’t proceed until it reads “Main” again.
i set up a soft key (#10) just for that. When I see it lit in red, I know I’m safe!

    Go to: Setup/Control/SoftKeys/Soft10:
Function:[Sel Mix PAFL Scene] Channel Type:[Main(L/R] Type:[SelMixPAFL] Scene:[No Scene] and press [Apply].

I recommend to download the GLD Editor software (mac or PC) from the A&H website, so you have a little time to become familiar with the surface. Maybe even better if someone could bring (or mail) the current church setup file to you, so you can already see EXACTLY what will expect you on Sunday.
Once you’re comfortable with it, you will LOVE it!

If any more questions, I’m across the Atlantic (watching this forum) and be happy to assist as well…
    Good luck and have fun!

We use Waves` Dugan Mixer through an M-Waves card with a similar setup for theatrical situations.
Instead of simply inserting the Dugan, we use direct outs (instead of insert sends) as sends and regular insert return as returns. Then we can check “Direct out follows mute” in GLD`s Pull-up menue.
Now muted channels are muted to Dugan`s trigger as well…

…and yes, a +1 for this feature in GLD`s own “faux Dugan” as well, this would be VERY HELPFUL if you stick to onboard tools…

    🙂

Looks like this is not possible.
Here’s an answer from Dante Via’s FAQ:

Can I use Dante Via over Wi-Fi?
No – Dante does not support Wi-Fi, your networked devices must all be physically connected to the Dante network via Ethernet Cat5e or Cat6 cables across a compatible network switch.

I think Ludwig was talking about Midas` Pop Groups, where pressing a DCA button populates the left fader bank with the DCA group members automatically.

A very clever and useful feature indeed…
