Joshua you need to patch in 3 places:

    1. Reaper > Dante Network (done in Reaper)
    2. Dante Virtual Soundcard > GLD112 (done in Dante controller)
    3. I/O in > Channels (done in GLD)

From your description you may be missing the middle one?

Sadly the only solutions i can see are:

    1. Use another aux for the ambience.
    2. Use mono ambience on the record feed via the Ext. In
    3. Make all feeds to a record aux post-fade and accept that any routing changes have to be applied to both (could just copy paste the LR mix onto the record aux and then add back in ambient).

Mike if you just want effects on the broadcast mix and not FOH (front of house) mix then you don’t need to parallel process the channels. Simply assign the FX returns to the broadcast mix and not the FOH mix.

Another simple solution would be to place an ambient mic somewhere, this is a mic intended to capture the sound in the room, by adding this into the broadcast mix you will something that is a more accurate representation of how things sounded in the room that going straight out of the board.

Finally some compression on the broadcast mix maybe useful as you generally want less dynamic range than you would have live.

If you are just wanting a mono sum of the LR for the sums then in the setup > config > main drop down box you can select LR + mSum. If you want a separate mix then you can use LR + M which will allow you to turn things on and off in the mono mix separately but not adjust the level independently. If you need independent adjust of levels as well then use an aux.

So it is just changing the settings of the detectors then. Thank you for your quick response. That was my inclination but wanted to confirm. May be worth adding that to the webpage as it just says ‘two optimised modes of operation’ which is beyond vague. Personally I was also confused about having a continuous mode on a transient designer.
