AHM can send TCP strings to an IP address. Have a look at the SQ MIDI protocol here: https://www.allen-heath.com/hardware/sq/sq-5/resources/
So for example, sending the hex string B0 00 00 C0 00 to the SQ5 IP address, TCP port 51325, will recall Scene 1 on the SQ.2023/12/04 at 8:42 am #117189One point to consider for studio use is how close the GX or DX expanders will be to the recording mics. The DX168 boxes use passive cooling whereas the GX4816 has a fan. While very quiet, condenser microphones in a quiet room will likely pick up some fan noise.
2023/11/16 at 11:29 am #116604Unfortunately this is a known issue that was found after release, and will be fixed in the next update.
The workaround is to select your mixrack/surface in the Offline setup once Director is running.2023/11/10 at 8:57 am #116442Check the Surface / Audio / PAFL screen and make sure LR is sent to the PAFL bus in the PAFL matrix.
2023/11/10 at 8:55 am #116441Hi Jakie,
1) ME-500 takes the first 16 mono OR stereo inputs from the Qu Monitor patch. Is it possible that Scenes are recalled with a different patch, or changes made to Input Linking? Either of these can cause the ME-500 patch to change. You might also want to check your Direct Out level in case that’s been turned down.
2) All ME-500s will get the same patch from the Qu-32. The ME-1 model would allow each musician to select different channels (from 40 shared sources) but the patch on ME-500 is fixed.
2023/11/06 at 9:38 am #116321In Cascade mode, the sidechain for each band is fed from the previous band. Each band is affected by the previous band activity.
In Parallel mode, all sidechains are fed from the sidechain input, with no band interaction.
These two modes were a popular feature of the BSS DPR901 on which the Dyn4 design was based.2023/10/31 at 4:36 pm #116151Just adding another view here as we’ve seen more and more engineers take advantage of DCA spills for channel navigation. Shows with over a hundred channels are commonly mixed on a C1500 / CTi1500, often with DCA strips on the top layer and spills driving population of the Surface. More spills can be activated by SoftKeys even without the DCA fader in the strip layout – essentially what other manufacturers call ‘population groups’ – making it possible to navigate many more channels than what the 6 layers x 12 faders would suggest.
2023/10/23 at 11:30 am #115928Just over 19″ so technically not rackmountable, however we had it sitting on a rack tray on top of our SKB Mighty GigRig (no lid) and it fits comfortably so I can totally see this being used on top of AV racks.

2023/10/13 at 7:31 am #115655These could be unrelated cases so I suggest you each open a ticket with our Support team who can look into this further, but the first things I would check are:
– Are there any Show file or Scene changes in the mixer that could affect ME-1 audio? Any change to the pick-up point for Direct Out, stereo link on ME outputs or similar.
– Is the mixer clock (Audio Sync) set properly to a valid source (typically Internal unless syncing from another mixer)? If not, clock on the ME system can drift to the point of affecting the audio or even muting the audio.2023/09/21 at 9:30 am #115030I cannot spot anything wrong in your screenshots. As Martijn suggested, please store your Config file and send it to our Support team at support.allen-heath.com so we can load it on a unit and try to reproduce the issue.
2023/09/21 at 7:49 am #115025Can you confirm the Dante card clock settings in Dante Controller and AudioSync settings in your dLive?
If you’re only using the card for recording and playback, the recommended settings are Internal for the dLive AudioSync, and the Dante card set to ‘Enable Sync to Ext’ and ‘Preferred Leader’ in Dante Controller.2023/09/18 at 3:26 pm #114956Hi Brian,
That’s correct. Although the 3 years apply to units already sold / in the field, this is not retrospective so previously charged / billed repairs are not refundable.
2023/09/18 at 7:54 am #114946The IEM and Wedge outputs automatically mute depending on the assignments of channels to one or the other. You can change change channel assignments to these outputs in the same way you set channel assignments to other Mix buses: via the Assign and Mix buttons on the Surface, or selecting the IEM/Wedge strip and assigning in the Routing screen.
If channels are not assigned to either, then no mute will be actioned when pressing PAFL.2023/09/18 at 7:48 am #114945When the Avantis doesn’t show up in the Custom Control app, try connecting by IP address and entering the IP address of the mixer.
Do you get an error message when trying to connect?
I’d also check that the Details / Properties of your Custom Control Layout don’t restrict the Layout to a specific User, Scene, or Device type. -
