I can always edit, then I get to the spam check screen that asks me a reason and gives me a little maths problem to prove I’m human.
Fill out that screen every time but it only ever allows/commits the edit sometimes.
I’m sure it’s not pilot error, I’d hope I can cope with a little simple addition 🙂
Maybe I’m on a blacklist ‘cos I edit way too often, I do have a static public IP so that would do it.

@wwolfgang I do go through that process several times but often miss a typo or want to add something, getting older sucks!
On this occasion the URL appeared in the post before submitting but was changed to “Home” after so I wanted to add something descriptive.

I feel I’ve dragged this thread way off topic and in more than one direction, sorry folks.

I’ve never really though about it that way, just followed the setup instructions which when I read them said gain on one surface trim on the rest.
Didn’t realise you could have gain on all surfaces and it would still trim the others when you make a change even though the trim is not “in your face”
I guess if it works that way with compensation on then it matters little whether gain or trim are on surface and like you say it’s just personal preference.
I need to go play with multi surface again.
    Every day’s a learning day 🙂

Strange, I don’t see an image at all just the word Home as a hyperlink.
I tried to edit that as it didn’t look very descriptive to me but got trapped by the usual anti spam features so I don’t think the edit worked.
I wish it was easier to edit posts, I’m always mistyping or wanting to add something.

    Thanks Nicola, that’s reassuring 🙂
There are a lot of us out here that have been eagerly awaiting the goodies hinted at in 1.9 for a long time now and several suggested target dates have been missed, some by a wide margin.
I understand the policy of keeping things under wraps about development in the works but when that development appears to stall for so much time speculation is bound to increase.
I guess as Homer said in the Doritos commercial – “Be still my pet, the hour is nigh” 🙂 (was that really 23 years ago? :-s)

Digico suggestions are probably because (as you probably know) both A&H and Digico are owned by the same company.
We’ve already seen some crossover of technology with DX168 style stage boxes, ME cards etc appearing in the Digico ecosystem.

Having gone though this process once with iLive (although I still have them and they still go out occasionally) I’m not looking forward to the prospect of the same happening with dLive.
Maybe when it gets to that time we’ll get lucky and there will be a dLive update like happened with the DSP card on iLive and Quantum engines in Digico land as Brian suggests, here’s hoping.

On the subject of firmware updates I’d rather see more frequent smaller updates (following modern iterative/incremental software development processes) rather than 2 year+ waits.
I get the economics of not being able to devote R&D man hours to a product when it gets to the time that revenue streams from sales of a product are diminished. Possibly continued development assuming there’s still horsepower available in the mixracks could be funded by paid-for updates once that stage is reached although again that would eat into sales of the new replacement product. Why does everything have to be so complicated? 🙁

I’ve not used multi surface much and it’s been about 18 months since I last touched it but I do remember the switch over being simple and only 1 surface of the 2 I was using switched to trim (which is what I expected and wanted).
I’ve always used 1 surface on gain and 1 on trim with compensation as Orion is saying above and I agree the whole point of compensation is to leave 1 surface controlling gain but gain changes not impacting others.

Sennheiser integration is rumoured to be in the forthcoming 1.9 firmware, although when we’ll see that is anyone’s guess.
It’s about a year and a half overdue from when it was first slated to be released (late 2019) so there’s much frustration as we all wait…….

Probably still worth submitting a ticket with all the info you’ve posted.
The support guys can dig through the logs and see if there’s anything evident.
They’re more able to discover things which may be a more fundamental issue (and fix them) if people report problems.

That’s a difficult one to troubleshoot remotely unless anyone has seen something similar.
Your best bet would be to open a support ticket and attach show filed from both surfaces.
The support guys can then load up your show an the same hardware and tell you if it’s a bug or a config issue.

    I have 2 x dlive idr32

Don’t think Ilya means idr32, based on the original question I think they’re DM32s.
The only reason I brought up iLive is that you could link 2 mixracks on that system using the second one as a kind of expander.
With dLive that’s not currently possible, and likely never will be.

When I was mucking around building a Go Button box for QLab I just had the buttons send simple MIDI note on/off commands and reprogrammed the QLab functions to respond to those if you just want simple go/stop etc.
You could do the same with your soft keys and forget about SysEx and/or MSC.

No, not in the way it was with iLive.
Connecting Mixracks together is of course possible using any of the digital I/O cards but they remain separate consoles so you need to manage them separately using a surface or Director instance per Mixrack.

Damn just realised that URL actually gets converted to the same big graphic from the original post. Sorry for doubling it up.

    It’s available here

    dLive Software

Just a minor maintenance update, 3 bug fixes and 4 additional acknowleged known issues.
To my mind this doesn’t bode well for the major update we’ve been waiting on which was initially slated for release a year or so ago and rumour has it is coming in the next couple of months. Why release a small bug fix update if a major new version is due out imminently?

I’ve never had a notification of a firmware release, I usually find out here or through Facebook groups and A&H page.
