Thanks KeithJ for the quick reply. Thought it was just the os 10.0 or later requirement and my own fault for not checking the full spec 🙁 Amazon returns here I come.

So I just purchased an iPad 4 running 10.3.3 (to replace one of many old iPad 2). SQ Mixpad app still complains it is not compatible with this device.

    Any ideas ?

Thanks for a quick response. I should have said – I have an M-Dante card ex iLive/GLD and hoped it would be compatible with the SQ. The new SQ Dante card is around £600, the ex iLive/GLD M-Date card I have cost me around £1000. On some gigs I’ve used the GLD as a monitor desk with iLive as FOH sharing inouts over Dante. I’ve now sold the iLive (in favour of a new SQ7) which has left me with a spare £1000 M-Date card. I don’t want to plug it in the SQ and watch something pop 🙁

I have an iDR16 which I hardly use as I have iDR48 and now GLD112, QU24 – all great kit. Anyone interested, please let me know.

Hi Mervaka – yes I have 2 of them and they work great. The question was really to spark any ideas of using, what looks to be a great desk (Qu-24), with iLive kit. Seem a pity to buy a new set of mic pres when I already have an IDR48 and IDR16. The other notion was that since you get a virtual sound card using the PC NIC, why not on the QU NIC ?

    Cheers,
    Mike

Maybe just one of these would solve the problem.

Not sure on price yet. But it shouldnt be bad.

    Hi Gil,

This looks interesting (also the 32 in/out model) if the price is right.

    Hi Guys,

    Tr
I tried this with windows 7 using the WDM driver and it works without using any 3rd party stream mixing app. I had already tried VAC before realising you can do it with native windows functions. In my setup, I have PAFL mapped to Dante 56/57 which is then mapped to 3/4 of the WDM driver. If you then go to windows mixer (speaker icon in your system tray)Recording Devices you should see DVS Receive 3-4. Then do a Properties and select the listen tab. you can then tick the “Listen to this device” and select the pull down option to be your PC speaker.

FYI, I did a lot of other trial and error testing with WDM options within win7 and found I can plug in a usb audio pre amp (m audio in my case) and found you can use similar techniques to add more inputs mapped to Dante (you can even use the internal PC mic)so you could use one of these for talkback.

    Hope the is useful.
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi All,
In my particular case it seems I have an issue with the motherboard and it’s a back to A&H job for a repair.

    Hi pealsound
Yep – tried using network port just in case it was ACE interfering with tranfering file to IDR48. Same result unfortunately, but thanks for the suggestion.

    Hi Musikhof,
    Formatted USB stick
    Fresh download from A&H
    Extracted Firmware Dir
Copied Firmware Dir to the USB root
All Sub Dirs and Files copied across ok
Checked well over 100meg free on stick
Inserted USB stick into Surface (T80)
Surface sees v1.9 on the USB stick
    Tried upgrade from Surface
Got similar error – “Update of Unit IDR48 V1.83 Failed”

    I’ll give A&H a call tomorrow.
    Cheers,
    Mike

Got the same problem on iDR-48 – Currently on 1.83 – tried upgrade and downgrade from USB and from Editor without success and the same error as in the screen shot shown in Nethanel’s post above. Surface upgrades and downgrades OK. Anyone found a solution?
    Cheers,
    Mike

Just tried a dell touch screen with editor and it’s NEARLY great. If only those faders where a bit bigger and greater separation between some functions buttons. A combination of a touch screen editor and the IPad app would be a killer combination. Pulling in faders into the custom screens works great on my touch screen as do many other functions.
Also, separate windows for custom screens to make multiple custom screens visible at the same time would be great (rather than tabs in the same window). This way, your whole screen could be full of custom widows with just the ins and outs you need for a particular artist. A lot of our multi band/artists gigs are are done on the fly and we don’t always know what’s on stage until the last minute. As it’s so easy to create these custom screens, it’s viable to creat these on the fly and make life easier.
Maybe in some future erase eh!
Meanwhile, Keep up the great work A&H
    Cheers all, Mike Fogg
