I can see the fixed format racks requiring a DSP upgrade at this rate!
2012/11/18 at 11:17 am #32126While on the subject of bank switching..
I would like to see an option that allows mixpad to move up or down in fixed banks, rather than the scrolling method currently available. It would just be a faster way of seeking channels for me.
2012/11/13 at 10:43 pm #32068Jens is bang on. From a practical point of view however, I think it’s overall more useful to use post-fader sends to a subwoofer bus per channel over using just in/out routing buttons per channel. I think of it as an EQ tool, but with a better phase response.

Adding the first channel to the group has seemingly no effect, then upon adding a second channel I get the message “invalid channel type” until I’ve pressed apply or cancel. After pressing either it seems to work as normal. Upon pressing apply, the channel I supposedly didn’t select shows up etc.
Should probably add that I’m using Editor 1.90!

2012/09/21 at 12:43 pm #31456I assume this will work with firmware v1.83?
2012/08/04 at 11:42 pm #31104your best bet is to just run mixpad. i’ve tried going down the BCF route myself, but the BCF can’t handle layers too well.
here are my device mappings etc
2012/08/01 at 11:24 am #31096Maybe I misunderstood you slightly, but the same applies to logic. It isn’t as simple and clear cut as you make out. I’m not party to protocol information, but at a guess I don’t think anything is explicitly sent when MIX is pressed, it just presents the user with a different ‘window’ of information via the faders, then the information sent back via the faders has parameters relevant to the current mix. Like I said, this is only an educated guess, based on the notion that multiple editors/iPads etc can have different mixes, so there is no mix ‘state’ happening in the iDR. Same for SEL.
2012/07/20 at 12:21 pm #31026The surfaces aren’t dumb controllers like the BCF is. The MIX/SEL buttons are local to each control interface, unlike the PAFL bus, which is shared. I’m not sure how the AHNet protocol works, but I am sure the BCF won’t be able to process MIX/SEL stuff standalone. I’ve made a feature request myself for MIDI mappings in editor to include MIX/SEL as it currently does with MUTE/PAFL. Of course, this would require a computer running editor, and not just a standalone BCF.

but don’t see that comments such as ” pull your finger out” can be in any way helpful as I am sure that A&H are working as fast as possible on getting new firmware finalised.Amen. It really irks me when reading this forum to see so many hot headed people demanding perfectly coded software with their niche feature requests fulfilled, while released on a regular basis. I don’t think people appreciate just how massive and complicated a project like iLive is. If there’s a delay in releasing software, it’s because they’re either working on it, or have found a problem, and are working on it. In the meantime, your current version works.
MODS: please delete my intitial reply, had a blonde moment.
2012/03/25 at 3:10 am #30097A rather simple one:
I’d like to see the channel SEL/MIX buttons in editor available as control types in the MIDI control map.
2012/03/11 at 1:51 am #30001Yet to test it, but I’ve just bashed out a control map, along with 16 sysex dumps for the BCF:
https://www.mervaka.co.uk/davec_1.83_bcf2000.zip
You will need to download bcedit and have the Java 1.4 runtimes installed to upload the sysex data (latest Java and bcedit don’t play ball!)
Let me know how you get on.
