Sorry for delay, Mike. No it did not work. I haven’t had many gigs ecently so ignored it and mixed locally

    BUT I found out why:

Here’s a tip: I was unable to connect with Qu-pad recently though I have used it many times before. Did all of the usual things but no joy. Then, poking around in my iPad I found that the Qu-pad settings preferences has a switch to “access local network” that was OFF! No idea how that happened, maybe in an auto upgrade.

Go to Settings and scroll down to the Qu-pad app, open that window and make sure the switch is green!

Have you read the manual? See page 30 for V 1.9

Really? I have five 64Gig SanDisc Extreme USB3.0 and rotate them from gig to gig. Do you format them in the mixer eaxh time you use them? Formatting in computer does no good at all, do it in the mixer. Easy Peasy!

Never heard them called “pen drives” though. I call them flash drives or thumb drives. Talk to them nice and maybe they will work.

    Best luck!

Adding AB168 to my Qu did not change the recording behavior at all.

Q-Drive and USB out are not the same. Q-Drive uses the top panl USBA port. USB out is a USB B port on the back. As far as I now the Qus will not record direct to a USB drive form the USB B port; you need a computer in between. There is no drive management software in the Qu except for flashdrives in the top panel.

Read your manual to be sure!
“USB B Streaming – Connect an Apple® Mac or Windows® PC computer to the rear panel USB B port to stream up to 32 channels of audio in both directions and send MIDI messages.”

Have you recorded on a drive connected to the USB port? Did it just start making the noise after successfuly recording before?

I understand the USB port is for feeding a computer, not running a disc drive. Check your manual! There is no disc management protocol on the USB B port…

I’m curious as to why you want to do this. Aren’t ten monitor channels enough? How many do you need?

Though I can imagine using FX sends 3 & 4 as extra sends, why do you need them?

Did you ever find out what was happening? This post is months old, but you realize ST1 and ST2 are hardware inputs, not outputs, so nothng will ever come OUT of them…

Are you plugging the other end of the Cat5 into the correct jack on the router? I use it in one of the ports but NOT the LAN port. This is simple, if not working contact Support or your dealer.

In my experience with a Qu-16 and a Qu-24, settings made on the ipad app will get saved with the scenes IF you save the scene after maing the changes. I doubt they will be saved until you save the scene. Given that, though, I have found that if there is a power outage they will come back exactly as they were when they lost power. That has saved more than one gig for me…

This is not normal action – you should be able to do anything on the pad that you can do on the mixer. Are you sure you have the right version of firmware? Maybe post this on the troubleshooting forumn to get an answer from Nicola.

Aggregate might be good but I have never done that yet in 17 years pf Pro Tooling. But you did not state which built-n L/R output you meant – the computer or the Qu. I assumed you meant the Qu’s hardware out. ??

Did you switch the inputs to USB for playback?? Did it work with Logic?
