Has the rental company page disappeared then? We used to be on it. If it has resurrection would be a good idea!

Hmmm on the wifi have you enabled the multicast feature on your router? I had this on wifi a couple times when using ipad/MacBook pro combo and that was the problem.

Yep Dymond, that’s the expectation we have particularly when you are using advance scene on go facility. Never a problem on the ls9 or m7 ;-))

Sorry Richard, I didn’t mention that in my scenes I had gone to the trouble of muting all unused inputs in each scene before saving – so each scene recall should be smooth with no unmuted open channels when go is pressed. What’s happening is that the inputs that say have a condenser on them are being briefly opened in an unattenuated state before the mute stage of the next scene is recognised ………….

    Hi Richard :-)

The same would be the case in reverse as far as gain structures pre- mute is concerned and i think that highlights the issue of priority as you suggest in the scene recall software as the problem here doesn’t it?

I largely agree with your suggestions tho, however i still believe that mute recognition in the next scene is the simplest solution as it should be an instant change that doesn’t result in the momentary high gain howling that can happen now. Hmmmm an interesting one eh

As far as ddff suggests about putting in a ‘blank’ muted scene inbetween each saved scene is certainly a get out of jail option in the meantime, thanks for that suggestion :-)))

I’ve had this a few times and have advised A&H that when using scene change the inputs are all briefly opened as if they were ‘fresh’ channels! This means that before the mute status of the subsequent scene is recognised bybthevilive those condensers that you have diligently padded & eq’d are opened in an unattenuated state! this results in open mics for a couple of seconds whilst the ilive recognises the mutes an a brief screaming nightmare ! It still does it on 1.83 :-(((

This still happens! It’s a big problem particularly if you’ve spent a day rehearsing twenty acts and scene saving and don’t have enough time for a full tech rehearsal that would highlight it! Then it happens in the show! Hmmmmm not great; mutes should always be recognised first especially if you are using scene advance on go you’d think the desk would be looking forward to the opening state of the next scene but it doesn’t

    Hi Jerry

we sold our LS9 to move over to iLive………..and would not go back, nor would our clients who, in a world where for the most part noise is just noise to most people, now insist on iLive as they have noticed the significant improvement in audio quality.

Your installer sounds like he has a hidden ‘Yamaha agenda’, is he a dealer?………….. good luck with that one. [:)]

Oh no, there is nothing worse than having to mix from a inside a small box!! Like Rexel says if they are expecting top notch mixes from you then a top quality local system that is representative of the room will be an absolute essential inclusion, you’ll struggle without it. Also, visiting operators will probably insist that the surface be positioned in the auditorium, i know i would.

cheers and good luck with that [:)]

    Hey all,
thanks to Biggsounds for the tips! Two flawless shows completed this weekend. I have bought a BiPac 7800N wireless router as suggested elsewhere, turned off other apps on the iPad and away we went. Oh & put a Sennheiser IEM in for my PFL lovely.
    cheers and woohoo!

I & my colleagues & artistes love our iLive systems [:D] we changed from yamaha & Midas digital & analogue consoles and the overall improvement in audio quality has been noticeable to us & our clients.

I understand that in a perfect world there wouod be no need for external processing & dynamics; on-board provision would be total, however this is the real world and nothing is perfect is it? No of course not. Let’s give the A&H R&D guys a chance to prioritise new developments, this will take time but it will happen if recent updates are a guide.

Lastly this is a great product, the most recent update that introduced the parallel compression option has made turd polishing almost possible! Well done A&H!

I look forward to editor including an mp3 player so enabling playback at foh from media files stored on the laptop running it………..[:)]

Nice, cheers for the help there men! I did think that the router was probably not up to the job and will check the mixpad settings on the ipad.
Again thanks very much and catch you all again!
