    Also, by using an external router, you can place it high up above head height for maximum coverage. If I was ever going to use my CQ-20 for some of the PA hire jobs I do and I didn’t want to use my QU, an external router would be paramount. I wouldn’t like to be trusting the internal WIFI whilst being positioned at the back of a room full of people.

    I think you may be asking for a bit too much to be honest.

    EQ on FX return, custom layer and DCA’s would be an added bonus. Everything else that you have asked for is very unlikely to happen. The CQ is based at the more novice user who unlikely to understand Sidechaining.

    Glad it has worked out well and providing you have a good line of sight you shouldn’t have too many problems. 5ghz is the best frequency to use to prevent disruption from 2.4ghz mobile phone users etc.

    You need to go into settings and allow it to connect. One of Apple’s earlier updates changed this behaviour.

    You could use the Mixing Station app if you want mute groups. 🙂

    @Howard B

    I have the CQ-20B and use a 32GB SD card, I can quite easily record two 45 min sets of multitrack (16 channels) at 96khz with space for more. So no need to go bigger unless you need to record for hours on end.

    And you can record direct to a DAW via USB.

    Yes. But as their impedance is 300 ohms, you will have to see if the internal headphone amp of the CQ has enough output power to drive them. If it doesn’t you will need an external headphone amp.

    Engaging phantom power couldn’t be any easier to do. What’s the problem?

    A pity that the CQ doesn’t employ the same feature as both the QU and SQ were you have the ability to set “SAFES” so by changing scenes those channels highlighted with a SAFE won’t change.

    Our guitarist uses a 5.8GHz Legato guitar system, not sure if it has the ability to auto scan for the best channel, but he has been using ever since I purchased the CQ-20B upon it’s launch and it hasn’t caused any problems. So hopefully you should be okay.

    Even though the above is also a preamp, you still need to set the channel gain in the CQ, so yes, let the auto gain do it’s thing unless you wish to set it manually. You will need to make sure that the output volume on the DI isn’t set too hot.

    I am not sure if this request is just a case of a firmware update, but more of a hardware limitation.

    Have you tried seeing if you can do the above by using the Mixing Station app. With that app you can setup scenes offline.

    No channel mutes on the processing screen, you will find those on the Fader screen.
