This is definitely a downstream impact of going so narrow on the OS support for one mix. I come from a mobile app development (Scrum Master / CSPO) background and this sort of thing clearly limits adoption.

For instance, guest musicians and their bands HAVE TO have an ipad or a Mac Book to control IEMs. Or the Church has to buy a boat load of iPads. At least that’s a cheaper solution than the ME-1s. But I digress.

For the new system we went with KLANG. It is comparable in terms of expense with the 8xME-1 monitoring solution we were looking at but it’s so much more flexible. The app runs on literally every mobile os but BlackBerry (Hey Waterloo!!) This means I can control my mix with $50 Kindle Fire, my phone, my Windows 10 laptop or a baby’s are holding an apple. You get my point.

    Mee Too Please.

    1) LCR and LCR+ support?
    2) Dedicated Main Faders… Stereo or Mono (or Configurable)?

    Hi Rainer,

I sure hope the AVT works the same as the DLive. If true, each aux is configurable as stereo or mono. Here is a link to how it works on the DLive console. I hope it’s that easy.

Thanks for the info Scott. This makes sense. It looks like we either run everything at 48k (meh) or run at 96k and forget about the GLD. Instead of using the GLD as the broadcast mixer I think our only alternative is to use the DVS to mix using a PC running logic or protools.

Or get a second M-DL-Dante64 like you said. It seems preferable to run the Dante network at 96k along with the Stagebox, Klang unit and LabGrouppen amps.

Dang this has a lot of moving parts.

I would strongly suggest that your MarComm folks change the product description.

From the “Everything IO” section of the Avantis product page. “Each GX4816 is loaded with 48 dLive mic preamps…”

Steffen, could you describe the differences and similarities between the pre’s in the DM48 and the GX4816?

    Thanks,
    Larry

I came here looking for the Off-Ed as well. I’m a little surprised there isn’t at least a beta release available for the same reasons as Guma. Familiarity with layout, workflows, capabilities and maybe a little preconfiguration work as well.

While we’re talking about Opportunities for improvement I would urge you to include support for Android as well as iOS for One Mix for sure as well as the offline editor.

    Cheers,
    Larry

The unthinkable has finally come to pass. I would also like to know how much longer there will be tech support for this desk please?

I’m going to chime in with the following features.

    – built in Audinate support please. Buying an M-Dante card is very costly.
    – native support for audio streaming over USB or firewire. Consoles costing have the price have this as a standard feature.

Branimir, thanks for the post. I’m considering replacing the GLD with another AH console. Would you not consider the SQ? And what did you mean when you referred to the QU like workflow being clumsy.

    Thanks,
    Larry

Agreed. I use GLD remote on IPADs and, especially, GLD editor on my MacBook every week at church. Oh, I’ve also spent a little time as a software development project manager, scrum master and scrum product owner and I must say that the number of high ROI features that were left on the table is stunning. GLD remote hasn’t been updated since the 1.6 GLD firmware update and even then the tablet software didn’t get any new features as far as I can tell.

When this happens, IMHO, is speaks to a reallocation of development resources to other things. Truly sad as we love our GLD 80 but would love it more if the foul stench of putrefying DAC’s wasn’t in the air.

Is anyone using GLD remote instead of OneMix?
