Yeah Graham, decided that was the case last night after an evening fiddling and experimenting. I did get a dedicated comm line set up internally using the surface TB, an aux, and the last mic input on the IDR, but using a Clearcomm wouldn’t work with it. Oh well, just run a long xlr to bundle with the Cat5e.

Thanks. I am trying to figure out how to set up a dedicated comm line using Clearcomm or Telex equipment internally. While I can certainly run a separate 250′ XLR line, I am trying to figure out the best way to accomplish that internally so that no speakers have to be set up.

This seems a bit problematic. We can’t exactly predict from venue to venue exactly how long we need our cable, and can’t carry multiple different lengths. Likewise, if we have extra cable, we certainly need to to keep it neat and organized, so it either needs to stay on the roll or in a coil.

Is there a way Sam to go in and “clean up” the scenes to open up more space? For instance, could we go into a show, and for instance hit update vs store all in each scene and solve his problem?

Finally got the router, laptop, IDR and surface all together last night. Any suggestions on settings that I should select or unselect (like DHCP) on all of them? thanks in advance.

Frustrating evening. Went and purchased a router and two wireless cards. However, couldn’t install the router driver software on the laptop because it wants to be hooked up first to a computer and modem that already has an internet connection. My laptop does have a wireless card already built into it, but when I plug the CAT5 cable into it it tries to use that as the internet connection so I lose the wireless connection. I will try again tonight.

You might want to check with your A & H dealer, remember that A & H has had a rebate this summer for rolling roadcases for new purchases of IDRs and ILive T series. I got those, and as someone a while back said, the build quality was excellent. The case A & H speced for the IDR is shockproofed, which may be a good indicator of its “recommendation”. It is also large enough for two 1U items in addition to the IDR48 (is the IDR32 the same size?), and you can also rackmount something on the rear in addition. In my rack, it houses the IDR48, my system management unit and a UPS. The spool with my CAT5 cable goes in the back. For what is worth, I do primarily theatre work, and all of my wireless units (24)are in a separate case (24), which the IDR case typically sits on top of. I agree with the prior post though that I would not put the IEM’s directly with the receivers. Hope that is of help.

Thanks Gil. My gain structure is fine. I simply wondered if for a typical say vocal microphone if folks were setting to -10, to the “fake 0VU” , et cetera. As always, I want, as you mention, the best signal to noise ratio I can get, but I certainly do not want to cross absolute zero digitally! Thanks again.

Any chance of making the GEQ’s on the outputs true 31 bands so we can get the very low (<63Hz) and very high(>16KHz), or at least extending the low end GEQ, this would be helpful in being able to tune the subwoofers. Thanks for the great product.

Immediate thoughts are if the C was routed to the correct output. I have had to go “looking” for the correct output on some of the template files. The other thing is depending on how your preferences are configured if the C was on one of the rotary sends versus the usual send on fader. Hope one of those ideas helps.

When using many (64 or even more with the dual rack) inputs you use many layers (for example T112 4left bank and some on the middle bank) with inputs. It can be a challenge to quick get to the desired strip. It would be nice that when you press the mix button on a DCA that all the input strips related to that DCA apear on the left and middel bank layers in sequence. lets say all the drum channels or all the brass channels.press again and the regular channels re-apear.So you can fast acces what you need without browsing through layers.their should be some indication to allert that you are in that mode ( DCA LCD blinking). I like blinking lights[:D]. Also in some sort of monitormode you press the mix button for an AUX send and you get only the channels asigned(ON) to that mix instead off 64 inputs spread over many layers.Of course in regular mode you have acces to all the inputs to send to that AUX. Most off the time they only need a limited number of channels in their mix. I hope this makes sence

That would be great! Maybe a single touch on the Mix button behaves as it currently does, but a fast double touch brings the members of that DCA (and maybe Aux) to the surface for quick adjusting.

I hadn’t thought about it, but that would be freakin’ fantastic! Please!
