I have been directly told that a major update to the firmware is coming. As Gil said, hold on…its coming.

Seems fine to me. Logs right on and stays connected. Perhaps an address issue?

For the poster who asked, what I would love to see is a Butterworth, a Linkwitz-Riley and a Bessel.

For the person who posted the rather snarky comment “people, learn to use real speaker processors. this is a mixing console!! not an ‘entire audio system in a box’–NO, it is not. As with many new digital mixers, it is much more. There are now EQ’s, compressors, limiters, effects, etc all built into, which are all traditional outboard gear. The same is true for crossovers.

Abstractnoise, while I agree with you on enabling 20–20k PEQ and am quite used to setting up an approximation of a crossover using the EQ’s on the ILive, its not quite the same as a true crossover is going to make the dB reduction very smoothly and predictably, and is going to permit you to really adjust the crossover settings between your highs and lowest much more precisely.

Crossovers built into the mains outputs would really be appreciated. That is the only thing that I still keep my outboard DSP for now.

Will be interested in this as well. I just changed the mixer config (deleted 2 stereo inputs) in an existing show, and my scenes remained in order. However, if there are certain mix config things that if you change will screw up an existing theater production set of scenes, I would really like to know it! Please keep us informed.

Sam, as I recall, when I was looking at investing in the iLive before buying it, the national rep told me that the preamps in the iLive are based on the M series of analog mixers. Is that still the case? Thanks as always.

I would LOVE it if MixPad would add the ability to simply change scenes. Not edit them, but simply be walk around and change scenes any where I am in the theater.

ILiveLove, at least for me, doing a primarily theatre work where I am using 30 wireless mics all the time, having all 30 on one layer all visible would sometimes be nice. I currently have my default view as mics 1-20 across banks A B and C on layer 1, then Aux 1 (stage) and my VCA’s for orchestra, vocals and mains on the last 4 faders. The secondary mics 21-30 and the orchestra inputs are then on layer 2. Works great, just would sometimes like to have a bit more on top.

Stix, I think you may have nailed it. I spend a while last night going one at a time, then both applying the change and also saving it as a show. Once I finished, and updated the show for the last time, it all stayed how I wanted it, and it is saved as my “default” show. Thanks all.

I mean I set up my surface inputs A1-8 to appear on channel strips 49-56 one at a time on a layer, hitting apply each time. I then set up surface inputs C1-8 on another layer to appear on channel strips 57-64 one at a time, likewise hitting apply each time. However, when I switch back to the first layer, those changes do not appear to have been kept.

Well, it works, but if I switch layers they keep switching back. I will keep at it. Seems the surface input configuration is a bit odd to me even when I loaded the default.

Heck, yeah, that would be beautiful. This is basically what Yamaha had in its AW4416 records, it had a both a defragmentation function for the hard drive, and another one that “optimized” the scenes, except that it actually removed recorded audio that was not needed any more(alternate takes, false starts, etc. It did exactly what you are referring to. If Yamaha could do this with actual hard audio data 12 years ago, I know darn well that the geniuses at AH can do this same thing with the iLive data in their sleep. Yeah that is a challenge to you brilliant folks [8D]

Ok, Jeff, now you have me curious. What pray tell is a “soak test”? My mind says you mean put the whole cable in water while the ends are connected to the control surface and the IDR, but that is perhaps too literal. By the way, there are some old posts mentioning Belden 1305A as an approved cable, but its not on the list. Is that cable in fact ok? The reason I ask is that while I am waiting for a Proplex cable to arrive, I have a good source for Belden 1305A that I am thinking about getting as a backup.
