Thanks Alex! Will give it a try
2019/11/13 at 1:28 pm #87609The newer, buggier Catalina (10.15.1)
Any idea where I can change these settings?
2017/06/22 at 3:47 pm #63980Thanks Andreas, Waves Tracks Live looks like a suitable solution for what I’m trying to do. Will give it a test run & see how it works for me.
[XAP]Bob no logs were generated. Audacity would crash less than a few seconds into starting the recording. I can probably try to uninstall & reinstall it, but I would actually prefer a better platform for this type of work.
GCumbee, I hear what you say, you get what you pay for. My only issue is that I don’t do studio work at all, so ProTools is an overkill for the occasions that I do need to do multitrack recordings. I never edit, mix or master any of the recorded material myself, I simply supply the client with the raw recordings. ProTools won’t be worth the investment, since I won’t use it to it’s full potential on a regular basis. I’ve worked with it on a few occasions to record voice overs (many, many years ago) & it’s definitely one of the best out there, but won’t make sense for me to purchase it.
DanZ will definitely have a look!
Thanks for the input so far guys!
2016/08/13 at 8:04 am #57627Problem sorted. Was a licensing issue all along. Managed to get audio on channel 1 & 2. If I want to move it to another pair of faders, I can always use the custom layer. Might buy the needed license for QLab later if needs be. Thanks for the support!
Regarding a similar issue, I don’t use the QU24 for studio purposes & for this reason the whole MIDI thing is a bit foreign to me. Is it possible to assign some of the soft keys on the QU24 to trigger cues in QLab (start, stop, skip, etc)? Or do I need a full license to use these features as well?
2016/08/11 at 3:51 pm #57596Regarding settings on the Mac & QLab – by the looks of it, no settings that can be changed for the “QU24 audio output” in system preferences.
The audio does play in QLab, with device levels all set to 0dB or with minor dB adjustments here & there (had no issues when using the same settings with a Radial USB DI box). Also selected the QU24 in workspace settings, as shown in the screenshots below, still no audio coming through to the QU24:

Missed the CNTRL button options on the selected soft key. Appreciate the assistance. Would still like to assign some of the other features on the console to soft keys though, but the most important ones are catered for. Just being fussy I guess!
2014/12/17 at 7:51 pm #44017I visited the South African agent for A&H today & had a long technical session with the local A&H brand manager, who is also a sound engineer & very familiar with the whole range of A&H digital consoles himself. The USB disks that he uses to update firmware for the Qu consoles also did not want to read on my Qu24. So alas, I had to let the faulty console go & I’m very happy to say that they replaced the faulty console with a brand new Qu24. The one I’m using at the moment is working seamlessly with all the USB disks that I have, as well as an older 500GB HD – no problems from the start whatsoever. I never would have thought that the console would be the device at fault. The A&H brand manager was just as surprised as I was, said it’s the first time he had to deal with an issue like this where a Qu console did not want to read any USB disks whatsoever, even ones that were formatted in QuDrive format.

I saved a scene, recalled it, but it’s the same old story. I’ll be going to the A&H wholesaler here in South Africa on Wednesday that’s going to assist me in either formatting the USB disks for me, or giving me formatted USB disks of their own in case my USB disks don’t want to format. Would be interesting to see if another console will react the same way or if it was simply the USB disks that are to blame.
As a backup I also made contact with A&H technical support for more help on the issue. Also asked them if they can’t send me formatted USB disks or any other information that might be of help.
So after all is said & done, I’m sure a suitable solution will be found.
Thank you once again to everybody’s valued input. I’ve learnt a couple of things, even if no solution has been found yet!

I followed your suggestions, formatted the 8GB SanDisk Cruzer & also had it checked for errors under Properties / Tools. No luck as yet, I will do what I can.@Dick Rees
Since the console does not recognize the USB disk when it’s inserted, it’s not possible to format it on the console. It has to read the USB disk first before you can format it. If it does read it & it was not formatted it will read “unsupported format” or something, according to the manual. That was my first step – I did not format the drives on my PC first. I only attempted to format the 32GB SanDisk Cruzer Blade on my PC after I tried to format it on the console, since it still had some mpeg files on it. I then thought the files on the USB drive was probably causing the problem, thus formatted it on my PC. After I received your list of approved USB drives, I bought a new 8GB SanDisk Cruzer Blade. I went to the console first to format it, but still had the same issue. I then formatted on my PC, but the problem persists.I also did a hard reset on the console to restore all it’s factory settings. Problem still persists. I also tested the console, passed some audio through it, all of this seems to be fine. I haven’t attempted to save any scenes as yet, will do so soon.
Hopefully it’s still a problem with the USB disks & not the QuDrive on the console. Will not be impressed since it’s a brand new console. Odd thing I noticed is that the LED on the QuDrive flashes very faintly when the USB disk is connected, but still says “No USB disk present”
Otherwise I will have contact A&H directly & see how they can assist. I’m situated in South Africa, not sure if the voltage here can cause issues on the console, but I very much doubt it.
2014/12/13 at 5:20 pm #43881I don’t need it as such, just like to keep up to date if the new version includes bug fixes, etc.
Thanks for your valued input!
2014/12/13 at 4:37 pm #43875Will give that a try. Brand new console out of the box. Current firmware is 1.50
2014/12/13 at 3:20 pm #43868Noted, thank you. I purchased the smaller SanDisk Cruzer Blade 8GB, but nothing changes. Still says “No USB disk present”

I only formatted the drive on my PC to remove any remaining files on it. When I then try to format it using Qu-Drive, it says “No USB drive detected”
