Thanks Adam, I Checked out the price. $60!
Looks great, I heard you mention it before but assumed it was expensive.

Thanks Ian. I will give the spray oprion a miss. I’m not really game to take the case apart. It looks too complex. I will live with it for now.

Hi Dave, it’s good to hear it’s not so serious. Did your maintenance guy say an electronics cleaner type spray would help or is a replacement the only option.
Some of my buttons can stick if I push them down off center so that go down crooked.
I think they are abit too tightly engineered.
    Cheers jim

Hi David, I don’t have an iPad, but there have been a couple of threads dedicated to it so far. Have a look down the list
For mixpad and wifi / networks / multicast.
From memory some of the guys were turning the metering off and then on again, to cure the problem.

How about a downscale option aswell, say a digital version of a mix wizard that interfaces with the ilive system with an ACE port, but is low budget, no touch screen or motorized faders with just 16 inputs and the ability to substitute these from the IDR rack. Almost an expander with faders and Eq encoders attached.

    So far so good!

Hi bogsounds, Glad to hear you finally got the card and that it’s working fine. I’m gona do it too when the cash comes in.

I’ve been getting the red cross more offer too. I’m still on 1.8 and the cross appears when I log on with tweak sometimes. When you look at event logs it disappears, and then you know all is good till it pops up again (rare).

Yea I did that once too. None of my surface inputs worked but control of the IDR 32 inputs was fine from the surface.
I had asked my buddy to run the multitude and he connectred to the wrong port. It took me two hours of trying everything else till the penny dropped. Not good at a multi band gig. Like they say ‘I won’t do that again!’
To avoid this problem I have placed a couple of old cat 5 connectors with no cable fitted to them in the un-needed ports. That way I can’t get it wrong even in the dark during a storm, after a beer or 2.

In an ideal world I would have got an IDR 24 to go with my R72.
As it is I have an extra 8 inputs for not much extra cost with the 32
Considering the system capabilities and overall cost, I’m happy. I imagine as time goes on the available hardware will spoil us all for choice.

Hey Jeff, thanks for all that background info, it makes understanding the system easier in terms of sorting a cat5 cable issue.
For the ‘badly fitted connector’ scenario, I have a cable tester that just checks continuity across the 4 pairs. Is this adequate to find a fault or are we needing something a bit more involved to check a cable….. Say something that measures the impedance across the cable and fitted connectors?
My system currently works fine in this respect but I’m always aware that it’s possible to be on the limit without knowing, and then an extra long cable or other variant pushes your luck too far. And then it’s Game over!

A single master view on the surface screen would be great with all inputs, outputs and gating / compression visible at once. I know you can get 16 or so ins and outs of your choice up in the user profile or plug in editor but it would be nice to see the whole lot at once. Obviously there might be screen resolution limitations.

The cable is only 16.1mm in diameter.

    Regards, Rene

Nothing is completly true, and even that’s not true.

Glade to hear it’s working fine. I’m assuming you use the 3 x 1.5mm for your power to the surface and the other ops gear. I wonder if this can be used for the full 110 meters?
