Congratulations guys.
This has to be the most interesting thread for ages!
My head was spinning just reading what you guys have writen.
I had to sit down for a minute.
This is what forums are for!
I notice that none of the A&H guys have dared to chip in….but I bet they
Are watching.

A great thing to throw behind a drummer on stage or run out a lectern

However, I recently did a show where I set up the band monitors with the control surface next to the stage (r72 surface) and then when i was ready, moved it to the back of the hall using a local power point.
Even before the console was powered up I had the ‘buzz from hell’ over front of house and monitors!
As soon as the ace link cable touched the r72 in any way I had buzz.
My feeling is it was seriously bad power at that power point. I tried another only a few meters away and all was fine.

I had an answer while I was still at the gig!
Many thanks for those answers.
Just incidentally, I also had a strange buzz that came and went over the
Main front of house system.
I was attempting to isolate the problem and noticed a massive buzz whenever the ace link cable was connected between surface and mix rack and also when my r72 surface
Was connected to certain power supply sockets.
I did not think it was possible to get an earth buzz on this system.
It’s probably part of the cable QOS thing.
Bad power in the venue maybe.

I think the Eq should be on the surface too. But all in all I love it. It’s small and
Easy to use. Most of my shows are 16 inputs so it’s not to hard to keep
Track of where you are. I always have inputs on the left and mixes on the right bank.

Sold my iPad.
Does it still lose the connection like it did before, only now it let’s you know?

Strange to hear the meters are slower on the new iPad?

The worst part is when I loose the main mix but the iPad still thinks its connected,
But it’s not actually doing anything. I keep telling myself I can hear the change I’ve made, but then I realize! Doh.

Then it happened again last November and was permanent.
I had to have the main board of the surface replaced.
It could be unrelated.

The only disadvantage is the 10 minutes it takes to do it.
All your show files are compatible! Why not do it.
As far as the current thing is concerned, that sounds like a load of junk to me. It’s a software upgrade, how could it change your hardware.Jim

or anything, just a small independant.
But I’m happy to help out where I can. If the list is there then it is a good resource
for all sorts of reasons including finding operators in any given region that can drive an ilive.
