I get more and more the feeling a lonely intern with no real world live sound experience is developing the firmware. If the next firmware release is again multiple months in the future no more SQ for me. It raises the question what this forum and the facebook groups and so on are good for, if the least wanted features get implemented and the easy ones with lots of request don’t make it into a firmware revision half a year in the making. Sorry, A&H, that’s just messed up.

@ Art: Soundcraft Si aren’t missing basic features AFAIK, even if they still are on V1. Six months is very long if you’re desperately waiting for things every other digital mixer has. And then to be disappointed is not good for customer happiness.

There are no separate FX blocks per surface. All processing including FX is done in the mix rack. The 16 FX blocks you can access via FOH surface are the same 16 FX blocks you can access from monitor surface or any other surface. You have to use other FX blocks for FOH than for monitoring, like FX 1 to 10 for FOH and the rest, 11 to 16 for monitor.

So lots of stuff people will have to pay for, lots of stuff a few people wanted and still none of those basic features EVERY FREAKIN digital mixer in the world has? After more than one year on the market? Are the devs playing a game with customers and potential customers? I was waiting for 1.3 to buy more SQs, because I expected those basic features to be FINALLY implemented. I’m not buying an SQ for me, won’t recommend it to any customers anymore and won’t even sell them on request until this is fixed.

Then you’re doing it wrong for 30 years. ai don’t want to offend you, but I don’t understand how anyone can be 30 years in business without knowing that every highpass, lowpass, PEQ, GEQ and so on will change the phase response and clean summation of two speakers will only happen when phase response is the same. And this has very little to do with the subs being right underneath the tops.

Other than that, if you use fullrange speakers on the mains output, how do you expect to get subwoofers and fullrange speakers in phase in the bassrange?

Yes, with an SLink card installed you can connect an AR2412 (plus an AB1608 for example) to each SLink port. Yes, DX-Hub is for DX boxes only.

You can set the highest PEQ band of the mix to hicut/lowpass. But it’s a bad idea to use only mixer-internal functions to process speakers. How do you even highpass your mid-hi speakers?

SandersonG, just try itMy GUESS is that the Aviom connection is a feature of the AR2412. In that case it would work. Unless the AR2412 signals the Qu/SQ that it’s not an ME system but an Aviom system connected.

I don’t have any problems with 1.3 being later than promised. But maybe a little background story about why it is late would help. I mean there was time planned for testing when the beginning of september was targetted. Did you put in more features than planned at that time? Did implementation of what was planned take longer? More bugs than anticipated, so more testing and bug fixing? I find development stories interesting and entertaining.
