Interesting, I never gave a thought that the preamps and such would actually be better in our GX4816 since it’s also part of the d-live line. I guess I should really move our system output from the SQ itself down to the GX4816 outputs.
Another +1 on adding more colors, and shades of the existing colors.
Agreed, we had to buy a full SQ-5 to have as a backup for our SQ-6 when it needed to be sent out for service. The QU line isn’t helpful as we can’t connect our QU-SB to the GX4816 stage rack, nor are the show saves compatible. It would’ve been nice to save a few bucks to have a “headless” console for backup or smaller uses that want feature compatibility with other SQ but could live without the control surface for a finite time period.
Our Shure QLX-D’s are networkable and can return their battery levels and signal strength over the network to their own local web service and app. So it wouldn’t be unreasonable for the SQ to be able to pull that data if the wireless receiver channels could be assigned to the console channels.
+1
I’d really enjoy a SQ-SB type console, we own a QU-SB which we use for our gym / outdoor events, and a SQ-6 in our main auditorium. I’ve ran into an issue though were because we have the 96K GX4816 input rack with our SQ-6, if I ever needed to service the SQ (which I do, I have a bad fader motor), I would have to run the QU on our stage temporarily, as well as being unable to import the mix settings from the SQ. So if I had a “headless” SQ like the QU-SB I could easily swap the unit out.
+1 on even a limited color picker, but if not a color picker, all primary/complementary colors would be amazing!
The GX4816 is a bit large for all users, it’d be nice if they could release a half sized GX snake that could do 24in 8out with 48k ME.
A GX2412 would be particularly nice to have as it would provide a 96khz option to the AR2412, while also allowing the ME system to work without requiring the SLink option card.
