Great news. How about filming some of the training sessions & posting it on the A&H YouTube channel? Not likely any training going to happen anywhere near me, and it would be great to hear/watch someone who knows the console inside out.
2011/01/02 at 3:27 am #26977Hey A&H… any news on the expanded iPad app?

2010/11/27 at 4:13 pm #26838I have a Motion tablet running Editor. I really don’t like the fact that everything is crammed in tight and you have to be very precise with movements. That’s fine for when you’re sitting still, but standing on stage or walking around I find it quite impractical. And using a stylus on the tablet screen doesn’t really feel “right” to me (although WAY better than a trackpad/mouse thats for sure). Plus on long shows the tired old battery on my old Motion tablet just doesn’t cut it… and I don’t always remember to keep it charging. And the tablet is bulky. And I keep misplacing the damn stylus! (I’m easily distracted in the “heat of the battle” [] )
I’ve been using iTweak on an iPad and it is WAY more “elegant” to use on the fly. Big controls… finger touch… lightweight. You’re certainly correct about accidentally touching something on the iPad… but personally I feel just as intimidated having to pay close attention to what i’m actually touching with the stylus on a crowded tablet screen.
But all I can do with it is basic tweaking. So I’m very eager to see what this new iPad app will do!! I want to stand beside the artist and perfect his monitor mix right there with him.

2010/11/27 at 6:39 am #26835Ok that’s just not fair. Us poor folk isolated in the Great White North have no way to get a demo of this app… So A&H, haven’t you made us wait long enough? How about even just a few screenshots? C’mon… Be a sport.
And, can you give even the slightest inkling of when you “think” it might be released? Or even “hope” to? Anything to just give us “something” to look forward to!

2010/11/01 at 4:37 am #26686OK A&H, it’s now 29 minutes into November… so what’s the scoop on the new iMix (or whatever it’ll be called) iPad app???
Yer killin’ us here! Ya gotta give us SOMETHING… Screen shots… Feature list… Hint at release date… Anything!
Sincerely (and paaaaaaatiently) yours,
Ian

and above all… make an iPad Tweak version to use full iPad resolution. I havent yet tried Tweak on an iPad myslef, but I’m told it just shows up in an iPhone size window. At iPhone screen size it is quite awkward to use PEQ (“pinch” bandwidth is near impossible for me to control accurately).
If this is incorrect and Tweak does indeed appear “full screen” on an iPad, PLEASE someone correct me… and I’ll buy an iPad right now!

2010/08/12 at 9:57 pm #26115Hello A&H.
You guys did a wonderful job on “Tweak”. VERY handy tool. But can you give us iLive owners an idea on what’s planned for an iPad app? Is there something currently being designed that will give us more control for MIXING a show and not just tweaking a system?
Not looking for promises or actual dates… just trying to see if I should buy another tablet for Editor – my tablet is dead and I need something that does more than Tweak. If you’re working on an app that does more that Tweak and takes advantage of the iPad’s larger screen then I’ll wait for that, but if not I’ll just buy another tablet and run Editor. But it would really be nice to know so I can get a plan together.
I’m sure you know the Yammy folk have noticed Tweak and how quickly A&H is evolving the iLive features… if you guys come out with a full featured iPad mixing app I’m sure you’ll blow a few minds. Not to mention start making people consider the iLive more seriously… I think there are a LOT of M7 owners that would love the iLive if they had a reason to look into it more closely!
Thanks for a great console A&H. Keep it up!

Biggsounds: I guess the happy medium might be another app? I mean, all the press releases referred to Tweak as A&H’s FIRST iPhone app – no reason why all this stuff needs to fit into tweak, maybe iMonitor is the next step?Exactly! “Tweak” is perfect for roaming with an iPhone, “tweaking” a system. But if you want to MIX a show, perhaps “iMix” or “iFOH” for the iPad would be the right tool. It’s not likely I’m ever gonna want to mix a complex show on an iPhone… but on an iPad you’d have room to bring up Super Channel and just like in Editor open up a section of a strip. THAT would replace a tablet running Editor.
I agree that some apps should remain SIMPLE with less likelihood of screwing up on the fly. But other apps could take care of more complex tasks. Different tools for different purposes.
I’ll definitely keep Tweak on my iPhone for easy access, but I’d LOVE a more complex app on an iPad that would give me the control of Editor so I could mix on it if I had to… or grab the iPad and go out on deck with the muso’s and build their mixes right there with them.
