Any comments from A&H stuff about fixing this with V1.3?!
2014/03/11 at 8:42 pm #38204I can confirm the noise effects james-rawson wrote about. I think it’s due to unbalanced/ unshielded mini-jack input ST3 to close to USB-connector! Looks like a bit cheap in hardware design. But at the end of the day I only use ST3 for playback music or keep it closed/muted.
2014/02/13 at 3:00 pm #37720Is there any official statement from A&H on that please?
2014/02/11 at 7:34 am #37688I myself was a bit confused first time setting up a recording with Qu-16, as I was used to select global direct out from iLive Port B patching recording via MADI or Dante. As Gary wrote the signal for recording/streaming to USB is post preamp and not to be changed. The new block diagram in latest manual (rel. 1.3) gives a clear picture on that.
I myself would prefer to take the signal for USB recording similar to iLive Port B handling, which is global direct out, or having the chance to set the signal point post gate/eq/delay for recording send. But this is nice to have, not a critical CR.
A great feature is to be able to patch the sources for recording with Firmware 1.3, well done A&H!2014/01/28 at 11:34 am #37482Hi Nicola,
thanks for fast feedback!
That’s what I expected! You can’t ask for a HUD in a entry level car as well 😉
As I often work with a show needing 16mics plus 3 Stereos for Keys it’s now a ZED10 working as Key-Submixer and everything is fine!
2014/01/26 at 6:15 pm #37428Yeap, guys. I already read the manual. I know what works and what doesn’t.
The question is “why” it doesn’t (simply to understand) and “when” will be all channel available for multitrack recording!?
As I had good experience recording 32 channels on a consumer USB-HDD with JoeCo-BlackBox Recorders, there can’t be the limit in the USB interface.
A statement from A&H is highly recommended, thx!

2014/01/26 at 5:57 pm #37427Hi Keith,
I don’t think that not to get with the version out available as the qu-16 has no internal clock.
It feels like to want a head up display in e entry level car, ;-(But it is not that critical as there are many tools available which can change the file date/time.

2013/11/12 at 11:02 am #36016hopefully soon!
2013/11/11 at 2:56 pm #35979I can’t imagine that there are restrictions not to record all channels 1-16 plus ST1-3 to Qu-drive. It should be on top of the CR list for next release.
2013/11/11 at 2:35 pm #35978As of today only Input Channels, FX Send masters and return channels my be assigned to mute groups. No way to get outputs assigned. I’m issing this feature as well. Should be implemented with next release!
cheers

2012/12/06 at 7:10 am #32343Hey Bear,
welcome to the club. If installed correct, there will be no faults while using Dante Controller and any kind of DAWs.
I’m using Dante with iDRs for more than 18 month now as reliable companion on MacBooks and PCs.
As you need Dante Controller only while setting up your Transmitter/Receiver-Matrix there is no interaction necessary to your DAW.
But you can’t run Dante Controller on a PC which is connected to ACE-Network for iLive-Editor, as both networks are physical and logical separated domains.
I use a MacBook/PC and reaper as backup recorder running 50+ track recordings for 3+ hours at a time without nay trouble.
Enjoy Recording with Dante, it’s so easy and reliable!

Darmstadt / Germany2012/11/16 at 10:22 am #32113Hey Mikey,
you have to distinguish between the transmitter / receiver matrix in Dante controller and the port B patching in iLive.
For example: You have set up a full 64ch matrix in Dante with iLive as transmitter on all 64 channels to a PC as receiver and vice versa PC as transmitter on all 64 channels to iLive. Now you can patch any direct out or any output to one of the 64channels of iLive’s transceiver matrix. Same you can do with all iLive’s inputs from the iLive receiver matrix. If you do the same in your DAW with corresponding in/out it will work properly.A good overview to that topic is given in a couple of videos in the web:

Hope it helps.

Darmstadt / Germany2012/11/16 at 9:58 am #32112Either virtual sound checks and live recordings up to 64 chans with iLive and Dante are a real pleasure. Flexible and reliable, experienced for about 18 month now.
Using mainly Apple Macs, Macbook pro with HDD7200rpm or SSD HDD’s but as well with a older WIN Vista Notebook fitted with high speed drives. Latest are mandatory for high data throughput you get by 64 channels.
Save (&restore in advance of first VSC) your Dante Controller routing matrix to make sure to have all node connected properly.
Use iLive’s Quick Input Source Setup in mixer preferences for toggling between Dante channels and IDR inputs. I save this two setup in two scenes making it so easy to swap just by two buttons pressed on surface.Enjoy!

Darmstadt / Germany2012/11/06 at 8:44 am #31934Every time you change the setup of iLive mix-bus configuration a couple of parameters has to be set to default. To avoid loosing the mix simply store the mix to a scene before and reload it after mix-bus configuration changes.
