If your recording to the q-drive and the power shuts down , I believe you lose whatever you recorded from the last time you stopped and saved. My UPS is just big enough to give me plenty time to hit save on the q-drive if I’m recording. If I’m not recording I would probably go without the UPS

2014/04/22 at 4:58 pm #39254Just finished listening to 4 sets from Saturday night
Not one skip, It appears that 1.4 has fixed it ( at least for me)
I reformatted the Hard Drive with the board at the beginning of the night
I used a WD My Passport, 500G
I placed it on top of my rack on it’s side, between the mixer and side of the rack ( This puts the Hard Drive about 18″ from my floor tom )
I stopped the recording after each set. After all was done I had a 4 folders with multitracks of each set on my hard driveI don’t think vibration is a issue. I’ve used the same setup with a PreSonus SL 16.0.2 into a Mac Mini With the Hard drive in the top of the mixer stuck between the mixer and side of the rack and never had a problem. I Think it was just a firmware tweak that seems to be corrected now.
Before the update I would get about 10 skips per night ( 4-50 minute sets). They were quick skips, sometimes almost not noticeable unless you were listening for it.
I’ll record another gig in a few weeks to see if I get the same results

2014/04/11 at 12:37 pm #38966You should be good with faders down. Thats how I do it. You should end up with raw tracks post gain but pre everything else.
Also I format the drive at the beginning of a show and then record 4 sets after the format. I stop the recording after each set. At the end of the night I have a folder for each set with multitracks on my hard drive. Hope this helps

2014/04/11 at 9:50 am #38952Thats Great news Prodigio
I will be recording 4 – 1 hour sets tonight. I will let you no if if it works for me
2014/03/22 at 3:55 pm #38466I been in touch with tech support and can also say they are aware of it and working on the fix
2014/03/11 at 12:20 am #38186I’ve also had skipping problems. Not as severe as the one you posted. On average over 4 – 45 minute sets I’ve had 2 or 3 skips. It was worse when I used the WD passport from their approved list. I been back and forth with tech support (which they were very quick to respond each time) but the last response was send the unit back to the dealer. I was hoping the last update would fix it but it did not. I’ll be sending the unit back for replacement. Let me know how you make out with yours
