    Gab, yes, that’s bad practise.

    could you say why exactly?

i did use an 2xfemale to 1xmale xlr adapter recently to sum a matrix for mono subs. or is that bad practice impedance wise or because of something else?

i think the problem there would be to keep it phase coherent.

thx alexs! i wasnt suggesting that its a general problem with sq. when i travel around with bands we often come into venues where there is an existing cat cable from foh to stage already, but i never know if their cables work properly. id just love to see if there were any dropouts so that i can see if i should use my own cabling ( which of course i would like to avoid; more work and hard to get out if theres a dj after the bands and people are still there etc). some simple warning that there was an interruption in the connection would suffice. i use to set up the mixer and stagebox before the band, and while doing the bandmicing i could see if there where any problems with the network.

and the sq would not have control over the idr preamps, you still would need an ipad or a ilive surface to control them

sq always runs in 96khz internally, but if you use an ar/ab stagebox slink is at 48khz

Hello. Yesterday i bought an SQ-5 to use in my studio whit Pro Tools 2018, but I can’t find in the reference guide the way to use the unit as a Daw control. I’ve downloaded the existing DAW control application (for QU and GLD models), but doesn’t work with SQ. Any advice? This is very frustrating/ Tks!

As far as i know, it’s not supported yet. somewhere in this forum i read that the driver isn’t finished, but will hopefully come soon.

I second that! For time aligning mics, for which input channel delay is used most i guess, 0.5ms steps are too big. Is there a trick to finetune it, which i haven’t found yet?

About your question regaring routing: you do this by selecting the bus you want to route to, then press and hold the assign button on the left and select the input or bus you want to send there. I.e. to send group1 to LR, select LR, press and hold ‘assign’ and select group1 (its routed if the select key is illuminated).

I have the same problem when recording on a stick with sq drive. I recorded a stereotrack fed from LR on a show last friday and there is very loud hf noise in the 10k+ area. It seems to be level dependent, the louder the band, the louder the noise. I use V1.2. Is there a workaround? Otherwise sqdrive recording is useless at the moment, it didn’t show any errors while recording, so you don’t know if its working or not…

Just delete the old one, and download it again from the store. That worked for me, now it’s one v1.2
