Hi,
check if usb source on your Sq is on “USB-b”.
Since 1.5 the selection between USB-b and sq-drive mode has been moved from I/O page to setup (page where you can also choose between 96 or 48 KHz).

It’s not perfect because depend your fx type ad the settings values precision but in complement you can try “the null test” to have an idea of the timing difference :
– set a source from your computer for example (it’s more friendly than a mic because you can repeat a lot) to 2 channels
– set 1 channel with normal polarity and the other with reversed polarity
– send 1 channel to the master mix, the other to a group. Send the group to the master mix
– increase the level for the 1st channel
– increase the level for the 2nd channel until you cancel completely the sound you hear (if you jump the sweet spot the sound level will increase again). Now if you switch the 2nd channel polarity to normal you will hear the sound 🙂 back to reversed polarity for the next
– set an Fx like dyn eq and set it as an insert on your group
– when you active the insert on your group the sound will reappears because fx processing retard the signal
– to find an approximate delay value, select the channel routed to the master mix and apply a delay. Find a value to have the least sound level

It’s just and idea, clearly not perfect for different reasons but we have time to test things right now. 🙂

Maybe you already knew all that… You can also use this test to hear your EQ (not necessary to use group for that).

I did a small test some months ago with the dynamic eq.

My setup was:
– 1 source routed in parallel to master and in 1 group
– no processing engaged on channel and mix
– dyn eq in a fx slot and set in the insert of the group
– master mix routed to an USB pair
– group routed to an other USB pair
– record in my daw in 2 stereo tracks at 96 KHz

Finally I had found around 0,2 ms between the master track and the group track.

clearly your observation is right and I agree.
In my reflection the protocol doesn’t need to be created because as you know SLink is the A&H owner protocol and already implemented on many A&H mixers.

Finally, the meaning of my thought would be a solution for people who wouldn’t need to get out of the A&H ecosystem.

STEPHANVS for me the main problem with SQ dante card alone and DVS (dante virtual soundcard) could be the round trip latency,
particularly with the integrated ethernet ports on computer (reason for the specific dante PCIe cards).
For record only it’s not a problem effectively.

For info (I don’t remember with previous version) in 1.5 firmware on I/O screen look the in/out socket at the upper screen : They are displayed with “light grey” background colour when they are not patched at anyway. When they are patched at least in one place they are dark grey.

hi,
maybe a solution for you if you want the same pan settings on every mix (without your request) is to use the entire mix copy function?
You can set pans on your first mix and past on the next.

They release updates only when fully tested (because if something is wrong they can remove the faulty fixture).

thanks I had already looked this document but… I think I must have misunderstood that.

To be clear and sure I understand correctly now :
– QU I/O dSnake out page provide only settings for mix out
– QU direct output are set only in the monitor page
– to feed SQ inputs I have to set my inputs source from SLink starting from 21.

I think my mistake it was I didn’t set correctly the inputs patch…

Hi,

I think DX32 stagebox with M-DIN inputs module is the only way.

But in case it’s just for one input…when you will see the price for this setup I think you’ll keep your actual way 😉

New2SQ did you mean GEQ instead of PEQ? Because SQ has a 28-band graphic EQ on each mix.
But I can understand that you want a more precise EQ 😉

I’m agree with you but I think the desk could save the information and send it when stagebox are connect.
Actually when racks are deconnected Gain knob change Gain & Trim.
If you don’t display the preamp page you can’t see that and if you copy preamp…
But now I know the subtilitie 😉
I have tried on SQ MixPad, adjusting gain don’t change Trim 😉
