    +1
I was thinking the same thing to avoid including a subgroup in a dca.

    Hi,
    I’m sorry, Thad, you’re right !
Since we don’t have all the information in the director’s manual, I’m the one who misunderstood how this option works.

Indeed, unchecking this option allows, when adjusting the assignments to the different layers, to not have the layers physically change on the console. Only on the settings page.

Like mixer when you are on layers settings page, press “option” menu will appear to choose if you want layer are synchronized or not.

Yes, finally since Director have the option to set layers unsynchronised between mixer and director maybe solution will be to have the same option for sofkeys.

    Hi,
    Thanks,
I’m discovering mixing station and so far I haven’t found the option that allows me to spill a dca on the console itself by selecting it in the application. And I’m not sure if this function is implemented via MIDI.
(Spill dca in mixing station is ok).

    Hi again,

Have you see this post ? maybe your issue :
Four day old console fader issue

    Cheers

It seems that is the highlight option (when you touch a fader to show you what channels are moved) is permanently displayed.

I’m new on Avantis Solo but Avantis faders are touch sensitive and you can calibrate 3 things : alignment, motors and sensitive.
    Maybe do sensitive calibration.
Before you can also deactivate the highlight option to confirm.

    +1 for full recall.
Coming from the SQ It surprised me that this was not the case when I wanted to use the function for the first time…

    Cheers

    Differences are :
    – mono send : all your sources are summed to feed the Fx processor and stereo is created by the Fx proc but without pan.
    – stereo send : offer the possibility to pan your sources before to feed the Fx processor.
In this case, for example if you have 2 guitars who are panned left/right in your main mix you can also pan in the Fx.
Gtr 1 feeds Fx L input channel and Gtr 2 feeds Fx R input channel.
Panning will be respected in the Fx return.

Difference between 48/96 KHz stagebox are very low.
For AR/AB I had read 1.1 ms input to output (with no processing like dynamic eq) in the Allen&Heath doc.

    Hi,

Reading O dB on meter correspond to + 4 dBu at XLR output (1,228 V)

But because I had a level problem on a local output of my SQ and I repaired it (replacing components on the output boards), I was able to measure about 0.62 V True RMS on the hot signal and 0.62 V on the cold signal (1 KHz signal from the integrated generator sent to all outputs at the same time).

    Stageboxes have the same values.

The signal being symmetrical, during desymmetrization the 2 values are added: 0.62+0.62= 1.24 V (the reference value of a level of + 4dBu is 1.228 V).
This is therefore normal…except that…it seems to me that certain equipment divides the signal by 2 once unbalanced so as not to make it too high.
Other equipment emits 1.228 V on each pin, in this case, even divided by 2 we find + 4dBu at the input of the receiving equipment.

Knowing this, we can adjust the input gain of the equipment accordingly.

If anyone can confirm this… I am interested

    Hi Gogos,
I understood that the development priority to provide access to all functions had been given to the Avantis Director.
For my initial question, I suspected that this was not the case because there was only one mixer in the Avantis range…
I also noticed that NEQ12 was available in the director but was not displayed when activated. (offline mode).
That said, that won’t stop me from being happy with my Avantis, right ! 😀

    Cheers

    Thanks Brian😉
Maybe with the Solo addition in the line this feature will be added in a next firmware if peoples ask for.
(With SQ Mixpad users can access to 16 softkeys on any models even if mixer haven’t physical button).

    Cheers

    Hi,
SQ rotary encoder ref is AI9645 or DC12G2410 SQ.
Already replaced on my SQ6 under warranty by local A&H support and out of warranty by me : advice: use soldering flux, desoldering braid, desoldering pump to make work easier.

    Cheers

    Hi,
Sorry to tell you that because you have already ordered your setup but Avantis only have 1 integred SLink port (multiple A&H protocols compatible).
AR2412 will work on SLink port but :
    – 2 AR2412 with Avantis shouldn’t work beacause AR2412 works with dSnake protocol which is 40 IN / 20 OUT max. (you can plug AR2412 + AB168 or AR84 on same line and you can’t cross AR/AB stagebox with other DX or GX due to the sampling frequency difference 48 vs 96 KHz).
    – You need a second SLink port but unfortunaly there is not SLink extension card for Avantis now. Only DX card or Dx hub who don’t support dSnake protocol.

With your ordered setup if 40 In / 20 out is acceptable on stagebox and eventually completed with locals in/out: keep one AR2412 and replace the other by one AB168.
If you want absolutly 48/24 on stagebox you need to consider other options and you need to check I/O possibilities on A&H website (ie GX4816 + DX012 give you 48 In + 28 Out or 3x DX168 + DX card or DX hub for 48/24 like you want).

    Best
