Hi Rockaddict, i have the same situation. I already asked twice for more safes options. For example, when i recall scenes, i need the lead vocals’ multiband comp blocked from recall (its parameters must/could be tweaked all concert long) or maybe i’d like a scene only to recall a specific eq on a channel and have everything else safed… that would be very great for this amazing desk

hi SteffenR.. sq multiband does not have sidechain keys for the individual bands like dyn8, as i wrote.
the softkeys request is because i like to turn off compressor on the moneychannel when the singer talks beetween songs, and maybe i am tweaking some other stuff and i like to do it on the fly without selecting the channel… or maybe i want to turn the eq of a particular group on without selecting it

Hi SteffenR, i tried it.. unfortunately it doesn’t work.. i think that fx retutn in safe is only about the relative fader position

Hi Flo, hi 22fuzzi! Sorry for my latency in answering you 😉 but only today i had the possibility to make some tests on my Sq5, and i found that the “perfect” latency to align a signal that is not going to an fx slot to another one which is, is 0.23ms …. I sent 2 channels in a group, the first is goin thru an fx slot, the second is not. With signal generator i put pink noise in both of them (everything flat and disengaged, no hpf and no tube preamp) and i PAFL’d the group with the rta and i see that the signal is almost perfectly summed when the straight channel is delayed at 0.23ms. If i set it to 0.28 i get big cancellation at 10k. Maybe every desk is different on it’s own and every FPGA has this minimal difference. So it’s no problem once found out. Thanks!!

.. maybe it’s because a multiband comp has it’s own phase shift, due to the split of the bands with crossovers slopes…

yes, thanks Keith! but when i start to pull up the dry level, the sound gets kinda phasey like if the wet and dry paths are not phase aligned inside the slot itself..

so, can a timecode signal coming out from playback player on stage (running down dSnake audio cable Ar2412>sq5) and sent out via tielines at foh thru xlr output, be converted to midi program changes to recall scenes automatically in my sq5 and other Midi capable effects(with standard din connectors)? which converters do i need?
