Firstly, what do you want to use the recording for?

Two-track can be done easily using something like a Zoom H4n recorder and the line-outs from the surface. Multi track depends on the cards you’ve got installed in your iDR. Do you want to multi track? What cards do you have installed?

I got to play with these at a trade show in Australia yesterday. Very nice gear. I was advised that it’s shipping quite soon. They are much nicer to use than an Aviom. The ambient mic works really nice too. Time to go shopping!

We do exactly what Doug suggested. Gang them together and free up a fader.

The first question you need to ask yourself is how many channels do you want to record?

You could just get a little recorder like a Zoom H4n and connect it to some spare outputs. That gives you 2 channels of recording. Very cheap.

For multi-tracking, we use the MMO card connected via ADAT to an Alesis HD24. Works well for us. We already had the HD24 prior to purchasing our iLive, and so we wanted an ADAT interface. There are lots of options when looking for ADAT recording devices, even though the number of options have diminished in recent times. They are typically relatively cheap.

Personally, if I was starting again, I’d get a Dante card. Records every channel onto a half-way decent computer. A little MacMini running Dante is what were planning for.

    Cheers,
    Michael

They look great. Even more glad I bought an MMO card when we did! When do they ship?

I’ve upgraded from 5 to 6.1 today. I can’t get my hands on our gear until the weekend, but I can tell you how it works after then!

You want help? Over-exaggerating and complaining in a forum isn’t really going to fix your issues.

To quote the A&H forums welcome page…

“PLEASE NOTE: We cannot offer technical support from this forum. If you have a problem that you cannot find the answer to here please contact your Allen & Heath dealer or distributor or visit the Tech Support page at https://www.allen-heath.com/support

Got a problem? Talk to the rep who sold it to you. Talk to the iLive 24 hour support people. Talk to your local authorised repair centre. Get your R72 replaced or swapped under warranty. If you really don’t like it, return it and ask for your money back.

The reality is you might have just got a dud board. That’s life. Quality assurance in any manufacturing process doesn’t eliminate the odd dud, it just reduces the risk. Same thing happens with any piece of gear. If you want it fixed, take some meaningful action.

For the record, our T112 gets dragged around by kind-hearted volunteers, covered in dust & filth and hasn’t missed a beat since we bought it 14 months ago.

The only problem we’ve had was due to a faulty ethernet cable. How did we work that out? RTFM, tested everything, spoke to A&H people, followed advice, got it solved.

Sorry to get ticked off but having a sook here doesn’t get your issues solved.

You got a response, but without you making any effort to understand the underlying principles. I wouldn’t classify that as an answer.

As others have said, there are many variables. Start by following the previous link, spend some time reading the Dante docs, and then you can work out the options available to you. Sorry to get grumpy, but from the questions you’re asking, I’d really encourage you to spend some time understanding the details. The reward is worth it.

Try the Dante docs listed here…

We use the lightpipe on the MMO to go to my Alesis HD24. Works a treat, and only 3 cables to connect. I’ve also used it for analog playback into the system, which works fine too. You’re only limited to 24 tracks, but we can manage with that limitation for now. Longest record so far is about 24 tracks for 4 hours. I’m very keen to explore Dante in the future.

If you’re talking about your Mac connecting to the same wifi network your iLive is connected to, then this password can be found in your Keychain. Keychain Access is an app on your Mac, in the Utilities folder.

A wifi network is not a server. They are very different things. This is nothing to do with audio, that’s ICT. In the world of digital consoles, especially iLive, you’ll need to spend some time learning some basic ICT skills, like network troubleshooting. After all, it’s how your iLive talks to all its devices.

Honestly though, if your asking these questions, you shouldn’t be the one resetting anything. Not knowing what you’re doing is just as big a security risk.

As always, RTFM. Repeat as required.

    Hope this helps,
    Michael

Having lead a team of software developers, the solution comes down to one core issue: planning. Whilst Apple don’t make their roadmaps public, there is large degree of certainty within the Apple developer community about upcoming OS releases, predominately via the membership of the Apple Developer Connection.

A&H could easily pay for an Apple Developer account for $99US and get access to pre-release OS builds long before a new OS hits the virtual shelves. It’s not a great expense and it’s what most developers do. The main cost is time and hardware to run the development environment.

Welcome to the pitfalls of the digital world!

Works heaps better. Had 2 or 3 wireless dropouts, but the app didn’t crash. It recovered fine, which is much better than before.

It’d be nice to be able to pan an input when mixing a stereo aux though. Pan is there when mixing the main but not a stereo aux.

    Thanks a&h!

Will the update also fix the issue when mixing a stereo Aux, the ability to pan a channel is removed? The pan function is there when mixing the main output, but disappears when mixing a stereo aux. I thought that was kind of important function in a stereo Aux.

Looking forward to the update, thanks for the effort A&H.

Any chance this will be recorded and be available for viewing later? It looks like a great event but my brain is not typically alert at 2am.
