Yup – Error 404: NOT FOUND!

2010/07/04 at 11:45 am #25856My approach in monitor situation is to have SAT Live or Smaart running in RTA mode with 1/24 oct. setting in parralel to control wedge. So I can see what’s wrong there and do some PEQ or GEQ there.

2010/07/02 at 4:06 pm #25847Agree with Gijsbert – worst nightmare is to have some automatic processes into your signal chain and get heart attack when unit figures something out for you. Have seen some of these in action, funny for audience and terrible for FOH guy. Let me describe this- you get feedback at 3k5, it gets louder and after 0.5 … 1 sec. when everyone have heard it, unit comes in and puts some -5 dB notch, this freq goes down, talent asks for more input (as some information has gone with the notch) and we get next freq. And then unit runs out of filters, then it takes oldest filter and release it to use for next freq. And then everything starts from beginning. Not going to tell about long notes on electric guitar… My oppinion is to ring out monitors, step back in level couple dB and save ones nerves.

2010/06/30 at 10:30 am #25831yup, let’s leave these suppressor things to Behringer :]

2010/06/30 at 9:53 am #25830So what? Mainly all new PSU units are 90 … 240V, let’s take DPS-4 from Soundcraft (used for MH2 consoles) – it has +/- 15 VDC, +5 VDC and +48 VDC with quite serious output currents. I think there shouldn’t be much more in this IPS10 unit. Basically it’s a simple switchmode unit with appropriate DC output voltages. The monitoring would be necessary just for the PSU itself (to shut down in case of wrong output values or overload), not the other end, as you can sum DC via diodes (just have to add 0.6V that is dropped across the diode). Technically it’s quite straight forward piece of equipment so I relly don’t get why it should cost double price of similar units.
2010/06/29 at 1:48 pm #25823There was a soluion with PC and a MIDI DAW controller as another surface, look arround in this forum. However I haven’t heard that 2 surfaces would work with one iDR.

2010/06/29 at 10:14 am #25821AFAIK this ain’t gonna work. You need another iDR unit to get other surface working. And a link between B ports to get signals splitted.

2010/06/26 at 6:43 pm #25814What about storing your settings as scene? By recalling it you’ll be 100% sure it’s what you expect.

2010/06/15 at 10:49 pm #25764Isn’t that some kind of mysterious loopback? I remember the old days when internet providers used to put a patch cable between 2 ports of competitors switces. After some time that switch stalled, later next cascade and so on, easy way to bring whole network down.
Another thing is zyxel dsl modems with wifi- on connection loss on wan side it keeps restarting also lan side. Shouldn’t affect audio anyway.ddff
2010/06/13 at 10:09 pm #25753I’d appreciate some dca control from iPhone and maybe bus EQ (geq and peq). All in several screens and large controls. Maybe next/prev scene buttons as well.

2010/06/13 at 10:03 pm #25752Strange… It seems HPF is in the safe. Can’t recreate that situation, let’s call it lack of experience:)
And yes- I have 1.63.Thanks, ddff
2010/06/04 at 9:34 am #25711Hi, Adrian!
this is quite simple thing – just plug the iDR in LAN (not MODEM or WAN) port so it’s on “the same side of router” with WiFi. Set LAN address of the router to 192.168.1.254 and DHCP enabled with certain number of addresses starting from 192.168.1.10. Put some MAC filter on WiFi to protect the connection – this doesn’t affect connection speed as much as encryting (WEP, WPA) would do.

2010/06/03 at 8:57 am #25706Richard, thank you for answers. I will try that Gated Verb. The EQ – you’re right this section is not changing, the thing was changing is HP filter, but it’s in preamp section thats why.
One more question – any chance to define bus sends to matrix with option pre/post bus EQ? For example if stereo matrix, that has main left&right in it is used for front/out fills, then I want it to be post L/R EQ, but when I use similar matrix for OB Van or just REC out, I’d prefer it does not have main EQ.ddff
2010/06/02 at 11:30 am #25702millst- thank you for suggestion. I’ll try to figure out what would be the config that should work in most of cases, however it very much depends on FOH guy that might have some quick ideas any minute.
By the way – I got one puzzle yesterday: as there is no Gatet Reverb FX, engineer said he wanted a channel that would have following signal chain – compressor -> reverb -> gate. Aparently the best thing to do is to have a group, route there a channel with compressor enabled and then do insert for the group with reverb. However I have no idea how to put gate at the end of all this.
stix- I’ll check that out, but somehow I recall my EQ was changing between scenes even channels were put in SAFE. Could it be the desk remembers state of EQ when Safe was set, not the current state?

2010/06/02 at 8:26 am #25701Well, yes – as for multitrack recording/playback via PC or MAC. But MADI allows you to have digital split to majority other brands consoles. I.e. you can have iLive working with Digico or PRO6 if you like.
Will this Dante interface allow to have a digital split to another iDR like ACE or MADI does? -
