Maybe think of channel direct out one-to-one recording patches instead of using the tie lines?
If that isn’t going to work… because you are using, say, channel 44 or something higher than 32 on the USB Out/In,
Then perhaps saving your DAW with custom routing on the DAW outputs… to align them with your Desk Inputs?
Past that maybe use a Dante or Waves card and deal with it through those instead of the USB?
Fun problem to have! 😉

I have been checking in almost hourly today to see if I missed anything!

I’d like to also be able to copy groups of faders… contiguous as well as non-contiguous, and have an undo/redo.
In addition, I’d like to be able to copy/paste faders from the layers “up” to the source input list. This would be a way to EXACTLY court ALL parameters to a different input channel. It also would help tidy up the DCA page in case you had added say, a second kick drum mic or snare bottom mic and don’t like having the DCA page showing channels grouped by DCA and and/or Mutes physically spread all over the place when they are logically grouped together on the fader layers, etc…
Are you recalling any previously stored scenes?
GREAT and very sensible tips Mark!
Since I run the sound for two of my bands – from the stage… and use in-ears in one of them, I think I’ll use this next time we rehearse and try it out!
Hi Scott,
Yeah, I currently use the traditional two inputs and a DCA. Works great!
However I was thinking that by using a stereo input I could reclaim that DCA for something else… and have the ability to put insert fx as well as /eq/compression etc on the combined top and bottom snare signal without also using a dedicated snare subgroup… which is what I do now.
Once I got the SQ I kinda went subgroup-crazy. I love this console!
Thanks for the clarification, Alex.
Fortunately since I have the waves card and their impact server, I can use something like their API 2500 or the Puigchild 670 to get my stereo group compressors unlinked. Gotta love those flexible insert points you guys so thoughtfully gave us!

Hi Peter,
I know some folks use a matrix mix for this very thing. They set up an aux mix with only the “some more of particular channels” stuff and then combine that mix with the main mix in a matrix mix, and send that matrix mix to their in ears. Then they only adjust the original aux mix for “more me”.
Good luck!
