Are you using a network switch between the Dante card, and virtual sound card? Direct connection is sketchy if it works at all

Dante automatically finds the device with the lowest sample rate, and sets all other devices to match. The sample rate is in the card. Not the one for the console itself

I’m sure somebody has figured a workaround. My experience is that it doesn’t matter what software you’re using (MixPad, Mixing Station), 3 machines is it.

If you’re using an Expression the quality, adjustability, and ease of use will blow you away on the SQ. I’m a bit of an FX snob, and they suit my needs well. I do use a couple external plugin FX only because there are distinct sounds desired. 5 verbs and 2 delays going, tho I don’t use all of them all the time

A&H stays pretty tight lipped about new products, and updates. I’ve pressed my rep about SQ updates, and possible new Dante stage boxes, with zero luck. He’s in the dark too. Not counting on any major firmware updates

Really like my SQ, yet as more and more manufacturers release 96k Dante products I may look elsewhere when it comes time to upgrade. Mixing and matching audio network transport formats just doesn’t make sense for the bigger picture down the road

Yes. That is an option. Not the original plan. Things may need to adapt.

96k isn’t necessary for the recording. There is, and will be more, devices in the Dante network that are 96k.
While I’m certainly not an expert my understanding is that everything in the network should be the same sample rate. Am I wrong?

Thank you. Dante I’m OK with. I was not aware of how the AHM devices use Dante. A bit more reading showed me that what I hoped it would do is not possible.

Unfortunately I kinda already knew this. Was hoping I might be wrong. Another $2200 for the new Focusrite PCIe card and a Thunderbolt box will likely be my fate.

It is never a bad idea. You should calculate the value of the expense. A good UPS is not cheap

I connect my laptop to the console. Running Logic on the laptop screen, and SQ on a 27″ monitor connected to an HDMI adapter on the Mac

Well that is disappointing. My workflow on other consoles uses the “bookmark” soft key function a great deal

I may have waited on my purchase of the SQ7 had I known. Shame on me for assuming that feature would be available.

I do really like just about everything else on the console.

    Thanks for the response

Is there any way to turn off the meters in offline mode of the MixPad?

Having trouble assigning a soft key bring up say the fx unit on fx send 1, or the L/R Graphic. Is there a way to do that?

Not having a true full function offline editor is disappointing. Plus a more detailed screen running real time on a laptop would be super helpful since the console doesn’t have an external video out.
