It was a broken USB-Cable. Support in Mainz replaced it with a new cable and everything works well. The whole “operation” took about 20 Minutes. But 500km to ride… Please A&H do the nature a favour and use better cables. Or send a cable set to the customers to do the replacement on their own.

This is the second broken cable in the desk. Let’s see how long it will work

Same for me. I have Firmware 1.40 on a GLD 112. Would 1.41 help for the problem? Actualy the GLD is on a show an FOH man told me the problem. No backup! WHAT TO DO!??!?!

I studied the Manual. As far as i understand (Page 9) i can select the option for AUX-Mixes an a global direct out position. The insert is always between gate and PEQ. So an external compressor is always before the PEQ and a external EQ is alway before the internal Compressor.

The minimal Delay is a good idea. But it is a Trick or work around. But not a real solution. It is OK for effects like Delay or Hall. But for Subharmonic…

The MIDI command mus be interpreted by MultiRack. In Version 9 it is not implemented. But that should be very easy for Waves to implement. It would be very great if i select a channel on the GLD and the MultiRack opens the same rack.

How long did you wait? I had the problem too and the reason was DHCP was enabled. This makes the console to wait for someone giving it a IP-Adress for about 5 minutes.

You can check under Setup / Config/ Network

You are right. I submitted a support ticket several weeks ago. But until now, i got no answer.

In my first job i’m a software developer, and i know how hard this problems can be. And i don’t want to blame A&H. But a statement about the development state could be useful.

In the logs, there is an entry saying, that the system is waiting for USB-Key. Maybe the system does not crash if a USB-Key is inserted. That could be a work around. I think i did not have a crash, if a USB-Key is injected, but not shure. Can anyone confirm this?

I made bad expriences with a Feedbackdestroyer running in automatic mode. That could destroy the whole sound during a running show! But what i realy like is setting a couple of fixed notch filters during soundcheck. That’s the way i have used my old DEQ-2496. (Yes i know… Behringer. But it realy does a good job for this.)

In the moment i feel fine with the GEQ and the RTA on every output channel. The notch filters will maybe usefull on difficult jobs like a choir in a small bar.

I checked the versions. My DANTE-Controller is now V 3.6.4 and i have a Signal on all DAW-Channels 1 to 30. But there are only Signals in the GLD on 1-8 and 25-30! Very strange!!

The other direction GLD->DAW doesn’t have any signal on any channel.

I will send the DANTE-Card back to the dealer. I realy think it is a hardware problem.

If i get a new card i will post my experiences.

I used DANTE-Contoller Version 3.4.2 (not realy shure!) to set up the routing. The DVS ist set up to 64 channels. All channels from the DVS are routed to the A&H channels. This way only the first 8 channels arrived in the GLD. I set up nothing special for the other channels.
Than i tried to set the output of the DAW to Channel 25-32. This channels also arrived in the GLD.

I didn’t got any channel from the GLD into the DAW nor in the 01V. Nothing leaves the GLD. This was does not work at all.

When i’m back home, i will check the versions of all components. But im quite shure i checked it to be all up to date.

Quite natural! I will sent the log to A&H. But there is nothing special in it. Maybe it is possible to start the console in some kind of debug mode to get more log information or there are more log files in the underlying unix system. I will help where i can. In my second live i’m a computer scientist an i know how hard this problems can be. So if there is a way to send a system image to A&H i would do so.

I’m running an GLD 112 with firmware 1.3. Yesterday the screen was frozen for 2 times in about half an hour! I was not in a live situation. Just playing with the desc. So i restarted the console with the power switch! After the second freeze the console wokrs fine.

No USB connected! No expansion card. Only AR-2412->AR-84 connected.

I think this is getting a major incident for A&H! That should not happen in a live situation!!!

For all apples: Android is build for stability. It is flexible and it has a common API to develop applications for many devices. The requerements of a GLD Remote are covered by the basic System-API like drawing on the screen and communicate over the network.

The only reason why A&H does not support Android is: The just don’t have the money. But i would pay for an GLD Remote for Android if it was available. The simplest apple ipad 1 is still about 180€. So an android application for abaout 20€ would be nice!
