Please see post by AndyH above for info and an interim work around.
2013/02/14 at 12:58 pm #33137Hi Jonny, have you tried recalibrating the touch screen using the Setup / Utility / Calibration menu? It is worth recalibrating the screen and the faders after doing a firmware update.
2013/02/13 at 9:15 am #33114New firmware V1.1 is available from the A&H web site. This includes the Scene editing confirmation option requested.
If you are working with User Shows stored on previous firmware then you will need to turn the option on after loading the Show. This is done using the pull-up tab in the Scenes screen. If you want to keep this setting with the User Show then set the option and save it by Overwriting the Show.
Hope that helps,
Carey2013/02/13 at 9:05 am #33113Just a note to say that the ME-1 User Guide is available on the A&H web site:

Refer to page 12 for information on the Ethernet switch and Cat5 cables.

Originally posted by songweaverOk, I just updated to the new 1.1 firmare for the GLD-80 for our church and I didn’t realize I had to backup my scenes. … We used the old settings from our old board to use as a template for the GLD-80. However, I can’t seem to find those.
Hi Jordan,
You say you used the old settings. How were these stored? Did you attempt to recall them as Scenes or as a previously archived Show memory? Please refer to the Firmware Update Instructions’ document available on the download page for the new firmware:
https://www.allen-heath.com/UK/Products/Documents/How%20to%20Update%20GLD%20Firmware_1.pdfNote 3: Updating firmware restores the console parameters to factory default. If you want to keep your current settings then go to the Setup / Memory / Show Manager screen and store them as a Show memory before starting the update. Recall the show after you have updated your firmware
Current settings and all Scenes are cleared when you update the firmware. However, Show memories should still be available. Have you checked that there is not a User Show with these settings saved, or one stored to a USB key?
If you are starting again from scratch then I recommend you store your settings when done as a Scene and also store a User Show both to the GLD and to back up on your computer via a USB key.
Hope that helps,
Carey2012/12/12 at 6:40 pm #32396Hi 8thnote,
LRSub works just like LR with a post-fade Aux feeding the subs (Aux fed subs). The difference is that the Sub (Aux) level is available on the channel strip without the need to first select an Aux mix.
Pushing up the channel fader routes the signal to LR in the usual way. Dialing up the Sub rotary feeds signal to the console Sub output. This does not affect the LR level.
It is not possible with this configuration to send signal only to the Sub. That is not the intention.
LRSub is a 3way mix with separate outputs feeding the L, R and Sub speaker processors. If the speaker system is correctly aligned then setting Sub to its nominal ‘0’ position (the mark on the dial) and setting the L, R and Sub master faders at the same point should be just the same as using a standard 2way stereo system. The typical application is to be able to dial back the feed to the sub from channels that don’t need the low end, for example vocals, flute etc. this can clean up the mix by reducing low frequency pickup from those mics.
Of course it is your choice to use LRSub or choose conventional LR or one of the other main mix types available within iLive if you prefer.
If you are having a problem hearing output from the Sub check that you are seeing signal meter activity on the Sub master meter, that the 3 output XLRs are correctly assigned from L, R and Sub, and that your speaker system is set for separate sub input.
Let me know if you want further help tracing this through.
All the best,

If you have recently updated from iOS5 to iOS6 it may be worth a look at this information in the iLive Knowledgebase:

2012/09/19 at 4:50 pm #31415Just to add some clarification:
A ‘Scene’ stores mix settings but not the system configuration and user preferences. A ‘Show’ stores all settings including configuration, preferences and contents of all 250 Scenes. Use Scenes for recalling band sound checks, theatre cues and so on. Use Shows to archive everything for future use, give you a fresh system starting point, and transfer via USB key.
The ‘Store All’ button stores all your mix settings to a Scene, for example to save a band sound check, or a master scene as a starting point for a theatre show. Alternatively you can store just a few selected parameters in a Scene, for example channel mute and level changes in a theatre show. Use ‘Edit’ to choose and add parameters to a Scene. Use ‘Update’ to overwrite just those parameters with the current desk settings at any time.
Storing and recalling all parameters can take a while as it handles a lot of information (imagine all parameters for 64 mic pres, 65 HPF, 104 PEQs, 32 GEQs, 96 compressors, 64 gates, 160 sidechain filters, 8 stereo FX, 32 mixes, 16 DCAs, 128 names, colours, strip and softkey assignments, patchbays and more), but working with just the parameters you need can be very quick. For shows needing fast cue changes the following procedure can make the Scene system very fast:
Use ‘Edit’ to add just the parameters you want to work with to an empty Scene,
‘Copy’ and ‘Paste’ to other Scene locations as a ‘template’ for the number of Scenes you need,
Name each Scene according to your cues,
During rehearsal step through each and use ‘Update’ to store the current settings to those parameters.
‘Recall’ during the show should now be very quick. This video explains much of this as well as the Safes system:

Carey2012/08/19 at 10:47 am #31170A few more tips:
Remember that you can recall one of the Template Shows (Utility / Configuration / Show Manager screen) as a starting point for a new show or user. These give you a classic layout to fit your choice of Surface and MixRack, and with auxes set pre-fade for typical monitor use.
You can edit the settings after loading the Template and save them as a User Show as your personalised starting point.
If you are using Editor offline then you should first recall a Template or User Show once the program has loaded.
If you change the bus config you should first store the current settings to a Scene, then recall that Scene after changing the config. That will restore your pre/post aux and other mix settings.

Carey2012/08/19 at 10:32 am #31169Just something else to add:
Changing the bus configuration resets all DSP mix parameters. Before you do this save your current settings to a Scene using ‘Store All’. After changing the config simply Recall the Scene and your mix settings including Pre/Post settings will be restored.
Hope that helps
Carey2012/05/23 at 1:40 pm #30660Hi,
Regarding the matrix issue and storing a scene overwriting its name, both these have been fixed with the new V1.01 firmware release which can be downloaded from the Allen & Heath web site. Please make sure you update your GLD firmware.

Carey2012/05/16 at 9:26 am #30602Open the ‘Setup’ menu in Editor and select ‘I/O Patch’. Then click the socket you want to assign, open the drop down ‘output source’ menu, select ‘Rack FX’ near the bottom of the list, select the FX unit output from the speaker processor then hit ‘Apply’.
Hope that helps,
Carey2012/05/15 at 6:43 pm #30593Hi Mike,
The source to the USB recording is assigned using the ‘I/O’ screen ‘Surface’ tab. You assign this in the same way as assigning the output sockets. In the GLD Template Shows, Matrix 1 is assigned as default. The Matrix 1 master is on fader strip Bank 2 Layer D and is labelled ‘Rec’. Raise the fader to send signal to the recording.

Carey2012/05/15 at 1:00 pm #30588Hi Glen,
How many Scenes are already stored? If you have 100 or more full rather than partial Scenes stored then recall of additional Scenes can stop working as the memory is used up. Try deleting Scenes you are not using.
