let’s try to bring it down to a simple point:

“Pre Fade Listening” means that your signal is independent of the fader position.
If the PFL signal is behind a leveling tool whose operation depends on the fader, then it is not a real PFL .

It’s odd how A&H resolutely refuse to address both the PFL and meter issues with the AMM.

Is this really true, or is it just “out of sight”, maybe?

    +1

An PreAMM-Metering is very important for EVERY situation with unexpected interaction with people out of sight to react quick enough.
Since the Mixpad app also uses the same measuring point, it is not very helpful. Kind of a workaround is an App called “Mixing Station” or a DAW connected via Post-Pre/Insert/EQ-DirectOut.
But that’s tinkering around the edges.

The PFL can be set to “POST EQ”, that’s a solid solution for PFL-Monitoring.

Without summing the channels, any metering would be incorrect, and providing incorrect information to the engineer is much worse than providing no information at all!

Hello, Keith. I don’t agree with your statement. As an operator it is at my discretion to decide whether information is helpful for me or not, as long as I know how this information comes about.

For 3 years now I have been technically realising a special event, which would not have been possible at any reasonable level without a metering of the DCAs. And I would really like to specify the dlive for it, but unfortunately this is not possible.

    best regards
    Boris
