Yes the eq is terrible and weak. I have been saying this from day one. You can cut a frequency by 3-5db and sweep anywhere and barely hear a difference. I have actually shown people this. It doesn’t really change the tone of anything. The channel your trying to fix still retains the same tone even after drastic eq. I feel like I can’t really change the sound of anything. And the highs are very sibilant.
Listen to the mix off on Allen and heaths
YouTube channel. All the mixes sound the same tonally. Just different levels of things.
I’m starting to think they chose this eq because of its low processor load and not it’s tone.2021/03/21 at 1:49 am #99992Need to have IPhone app.
You will take Yamaha market share if you add this feature. What are you thinking a&h🤷2021/03/21 at 1:33 am #99991Yes, Dante in both cases.

2021/03/14 at 5:04 pm #99814Yes, I’m considering getting my mixrack serviced and tested. I think it just might be me who doesn’t like the tone, probably nothing wrong with the mixrack. Gonna try a bla external clock to see if that improves things.
I recorded a vocal with a ulxd to computer via Dante.
One track was recorded with the dlive internal clock as the master, the other track I used the ulxd as the master clock.
The ulxd track had more presence and less mudd.
I feel that the dlive clock subdues high transients. It’s like a smoothening effect.
Try this, Play some playback music into the dlive,
And experiment with different clocks as the master. Listen to how the transients change.2021/03/10 at 7:27 pm #99727Don’t remember ,
But they are the 8 channel versions of each2021/03/07 at 7:55 pm #99636Measured frequency response and tone are not the same thing.
I agree, The dlive measures well.
But something is off with the tone.2021/02/14 at 8:05 pm #98919I opened it up.
Cirrus logic on ad
Burr brown on dac side.2021/02/14 at 8:00 pm #98918Demo as many consoles as you can. They all act and sound unique.
Don’t just play music through it on the demo.
Mix a whole band. I made that mistake before I got my dlive.
Dlive is very warm soft sounding console. Lots of mids, rolled off on the top imo.
Better for high volume gig, not church levels.2020/12/23 at 3:41 am #97570What do you use the chorus for?
2020/12/20 at 2:52 am #97488That’s ridiculous, I don’t want to make a scene to save the channel settings.
Gets too convoluted.
Must be fun in a festival situation when you have to make a head amp scene to soft patch the stage because surface strips don’t save head amp settings. What is the purpose of this?2020/12/19 at 7:18 am #97462and Why when you reset the channel, it doesn’t reset everything including gain and names. Sometimes I need to clear like 8 input strips. It takes forever to zero out everything. Makes no sense at all.
A zero out surface strip button would be amazing.
Why doesn’t channel library save everything!!
I don’t get it. And why when I change socket, it changes the preamp settings.2020/12/19 at 2:14 am #97461Thanks👍
2020/12/18 at 8:39 pm #97445No way! It is not a bad mic at all. Beta 58, bono on Joshua tree and all his live shows. The list is long. Many people love them. It’s dynamics works for some. I work with a female singer that sounds best on it. Some singers need the high end bump. I also have ksm9, Neumann kms105,
Beta 87, seV7, Sennheiser e965.2020/12/18 at 2:24 am #97423I’m not debating playback. Like vinyl vs digital.
what I’m saying is that home studio gear does not touch the big boy stuff period. U47, Neve, studer, pultec, la2a etc…I tested my Neve style transformer pre with Dlive mixrack. Mixrack was muddy in comparison(as expected)with less clarity, like an interface preamp.
