I agree that an automatic recovery from sleep without needing to log in would be a plus for my use. I also find the delay from when you touch the fader until it comes to life a little annoying, but have got used to it. It would occasionally be useful for me to have access to the stereo/mono width control for stereo channels. Otherwise the feature set is adequate and, for anything more involved than level, EQ, and minor dynamics adjustments, I use the surface. –Frank
2018/08/23 at 4:40 pm #73521I have thought about this, too. I often configure the board to mix monitors from FOH by splitting each input to two channels for FOH and monitors, respectively. I keep the corresponding channels offset by 40 to make it easier to keep track of (the input that feeds ch 3 for FOH feeds ch 43 for monitors, for example). But I still need to label the corresponding channels individually. It would be quite useful for me when adding and naming an input that the same name would automatically appear on all channels fed from that input. I know which instance of the input I’m controlling through bank assignment and color code. The color code should continue to be associated with the channel and persist across name changes.
There would be times when this is not desirable, so it would need to be a mode. (And I don’t take additional modes lightly.)

2018/02/22 at 8:09 pm #69131Hi Art,
I had a case made for my C2500 by Anvil Cases in City of Industry, CA. They built it to my requirements and I’m extremely pleased with the result. The price was good, too.
They’re at 626-968-4100.
If you use my dimensions, that I assume they have on file, you can be sure it will fit.

2017/12/22 at 5:37 pm #67088I agree wholeheartedly that we don’t want this sort of useless consumer cruft. It brings up the broader topic of feature creep, which eventually affects most technological products. I find the dLive to be pretty damn good as it is, in large part because it isn’t more complicated than it needs to be. I hope that A&H will be very selective in adding features and complexity. New features need to solve a problem that a significant number of professional users actually have. For inspiration think Boeing, not Toyota.

2017/07/24 at 10:37 pm #64444Just to follow up. I received my AES card today. Thanks Art! It requires 1.5 firmware but with that is up and running. Inputs and outputs work as expected. What a clean little setup I have now. Very happy. –Frank

I want to thank you for bringing up this subject and your research. As a result it occurred to me to try to connect Powersoft’s control and monitoring application (Armonia) to the amplifiers over the GigaAce link. It appears to work just fine. I can have a laptop running Armonia (plugged into the general Ethernet jack at the console) monitoring all the amplifiers in the system (which are plugged into the general Ethernet jack on the Mixrack).
One caution for anyone wanting to try this is that the rear panel jacks on the K series amps use two of the 4 pairs in the Ethernet cable for AES3, so I make my connection to the Mixrack through the front panel jacks which leave those pins open.
I’ll continue to test but so far so good.
Best,

2017/07/17 at 4:51 pm #64323Hi Art,
Thanks for checking. I need just one. If you want to give me a quote call me at:
sex fife oh, tree too fife, sex tree sex nein.
How’s that for a human-only-readlable number?
Thanks.

2017/04/20 at 4:00 pm #63054Thanks so much! I was well aware of ASSIGN + MIX applied to an input but somehow missed ASSIGN + MIX (and PRE + SEL) applied to a mix. Does exactly what I want. No more silly questions from me. –Frank
