    Hi,

    But i think if each FX-machine is used for only 1 vocal everything is OK – isn’t it?

    Voc1 -> FX1 -> RtnFx1
    Voc2 -> FX2 -> RtnFx2
    Voc3 -> FX3 -> RtnFx3

    FX Snd 1-3 has to be PRE fader, and in the SQ4You you have to assign control groups for every Vocal (Voc + RtnFx)
    So you’ll have the full flexibility how many FX amount of each singer the individual person would receive!

    greetings,
    dd

    You do not need any input channel to return your signal from the master insert.

    When you’ve patched the return sockets correct in the insert screen of your master bus, and the insert is “ON”, then the signalflow is opened and will go thru your output gear. You can control this behaviour very easily: with disconnected Return cables, no Signal has to go thru!

    All the best,
    dd

    But the problem appears only on channels of the GX4816 or also on your local preamps?

    Hi JtrJammer,

    No, there is no control of the send level of an insert point.

    returns were set to -Inf DB/Faders all the way down,

    Which return fader do you mean? There is no Return level control in the SQ.

    If you mean the return level control on your external gear, then your insert point is not active, you have to switch it “in” (green)

    Hi K,

    Did you know something about the Layer Buttons on the left handside near the faders?
    They can change your Faderbanks!

    Maybe your normal working layer is “A” but you’re on Layer “F” and this Layer is empty?

    Hi AsherN,

    The changes appera only on you Stagebox (as i can see).

    Which stagebox (I/O Unit) do you use?
    Is your Network connection OK? Are you using any switch or router?
    Try another CAT Cable!
    Audio thru this channels is fine all the time?
    greetings

    Hi everyone, Hi Keith,

    +1
    for a way to fix the position of the DCA Strip on the Layer

    +1
    for the possibility to fix a channel in all Layers

    I think it will become very tricky to find a good solution to implement this features, but they will make life really a little bit easier. The idea, that the DCA master will swap all to the right is an easy way to solve some ordering conflicts. BUT it is really NOT THE BEST solution….

    In my eyes it a little unlucky solution… because when I switch something on, I want to use the SAME switch, to switch this off (redo the swap). So DCA Spill on one Button, an then this button is gone… really don’t like this behaviour!

    Maybe A&H can add little lock buttons in the surface tab (where via trag&trop the channel strips get sorted on the layer) every channel can have a button to lock the position there on every Layer.
    And the DCA can get a second button, to lock the DCA on that particular Layer.
    So the Surface design will become even more individual! YEAH!!

    And this (at least for me) is one of the REALLY BIG tings of the SQ to create the Surface Layout as THE USER want it to be! Ok on the big consoles this is common, but on a small Print, like the SQ5 this is the big PLUS of this series

    So please A&H find a way to give the users even a little bit more options to create the surface.

    Thanks & greetings,
    dd

    Maybe A&H is willing to make this communication puplic?

    why did the #1 brand for live SR choose to not include it in their initial SQ line

    Mono Matrix?

    They need 2!! Updates to include Mono Matrix!
    With the first Software there was NO!!! possibility to get a Mono Sum of L+R Out of the console (ok, via a post aux-mix)

    I think 90% of all mixers on this earth support a Mono Sum.

    So why didn’t they include it from beginning?

    @Hugh:
    There is / was a failure of the encoders of the SQ. You can spot it very good by adjusting the EQ:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2py0_0BBbo&t=11s
    https://community.allen-heath.com/forums/topic/eq-jitter

    And because of the “very long way” the encoder must be turned, to adjust the ratio (don’t know why A&H impementet this so BAD!) you can not change the ratio.

    So in short: i think there’s a hardware problem with your encoder. give it a try with the EQ you’ll find it out very fast!

    Hi Tom,

    FOH SQ7 (S-Link Port internal) <====> (S-Link opt. Card) Mon SQ6 (S-Link Port internal) <====> (Port 1) DX168-1 (Port 2) <====> (Port 1) DX168-2

    So to send you Subs (zB. Aux1 on SQ7) to Output 1 on the 2nd DX168-2

    On SQ7 patch:
    Aux1 to Slink 1

    On SQ6 patch:
    tie lines IOCard 1 to Slink 17 !!!
    17 !! is important, because DX168 Outs are 1-8 on the S-Link port, 9-16 are UNUSED! and 17-24 are the outputs of the 2nd DX168

    please have a view on these Webpage and videos, your questions are very good answered there:
