Hey!
So I’ve got a very basic setup.
I’m running 2 jack cables from my MPC 2500 (stereo out) left and right > into the ZEDi10 FX first 2 channels (1 & 2). I’ve also tried 3 & 4, as well as ST 1 & ST 2 (in the mixer). Also on the mixer – I’ve panned input 1 to left, and input 2 to the right.
When I play the MPC I can only hear mono, also in Ableton I also only hear mono through each of those inputs I’ve tried (1&2, 3&4).
I’m using the USB directly into my laptop.I plug my headphones directly into the MPC and stereo is fine.
I’ve got the MPC set up for stereo out, so left and right should be feeding in stereo perfectly.
I’ve even tried setting the MPC to use output 1 & 2 but still mono in the mixer.I’ve used this setup previously for years with a small NI Komplete 6 interface without any issues.
I’ve attached some screenshots of the Mac MIDI/Audio setup. Not sure if this helps.
What else can I try? I really need to record this track out this weekend for a friend of mine.
Thank you in advance!

I am troubleshooting why my mpc 2000 have latency issues with FL studio thru the mixer. Finally solved a big midi problem today on the akai.. so now I just gotta get this sorted. My only advice would be to double check everything in ableton and make sure all is good.

The PFL/Listen/Headphone bus on the mixer is mono and intended for checking individual channel sound and level. (You can see this in the block diagram here – https://www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/06/ZEDi-10FX-Technical-Datasheet.pdf#page=3&zoom=220,243,0)
With none of the channel headphone buttons pressed however, and nothing being sent to the PFL bus, you will hear the main LR mix in stereo. The ZEDi-10 and ZEDi-10FX have a 4in 4out USB interface. The first two channels going to the computer are always inputs 1&2 and you can chose what the second two are using the USB OUT switches.
It is not possible to send the stereo channels of the ZED directly to the USB output, but they can be sent to Aux/FX busses or the main LR mix for recording.
This is explained in the help document here – https://www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2024/04/ZEDi-USB-Windows-Driver-Help.pdfThanks,
Keith. -
