I’ve got this crazy idea and I can’t find information anywhere.

I’m primarily a wedding DJ running an XR12 in my ceremony rack. (I’d love a QU-SB or CQ12 but can’t afford one at the moment.) I bought an X-Touch compact so I can have physical faders to ride for ceremonies. My crazy idea is I’m wondering if it’s possible to run mixing station software in conjunction with the x-touch to control FOH for my QU-32 while it lives on side stage when I’m mixing bands. One setup with multiple purposes. I know it’s crazy

    It should work just fine.

I’ve used the X-Touch Extender with Mixing Station to have physical faders on various consoles. It works great. You simply connect the Midi fader bank to whatever device you are running Mixing Station on. For me, that was an Android Tablet. Most of the controls will work “out of the box” but you can always edit the midi commands for each button/fader/knobs if you need to.

The only downside is that the “Compact” models of the X-Touch don’t have scribble strips, so that is a limitation you’ll just have to work around. The regular versions of the X-Touch have scribble strips that work normally (ie they update with the correct name when you change layers) with the Mixing Station software.
